Editorial Reviews

From the Manufacturer
The Panasonic 2-Line, Plain Paper Fax/Copier with Expandable 5.8 GHz FHSS GigaRange Cordless Phone System conveniently combines a fax machine and a cordless phone into one system. Operating on the 5.8GHz frequency, this system operates on a wavelength with much less traffic than the 2.4 GHz technology while maintaining excellent security, incredible clarity, and long range. Have a wireless computer network, or thinking about getting one? 5.8 GHz technology will not interfere with wireless networks such as 802.11b or 802.11g. For added convenience, you can add up to three more handsets on this 2-line phone systems. Key phone features include caller ID with call waiting (optional service required from your local phone carrier), a digital answering machine with up to 15 minutes of recording time, a 50-entry phone book, and more. The handset also features an illuminated antenna that lights when phone rings or is in use, and a large multifunction LCD screen. Key fax features include a 30-sheet paper tray, an automatic document feeder, and copier functions with reduction and enlargement modes.

Customer Reviews

OK fax copier, phone. acceptable for the SHO2
if you need to send faxes it is ok, the memory seems to get overloaded if you send more than 5-6 pages. the print quality on the recieve side i have found to be on the poor side and the auto fax answer switch mode does not work with my VOIP service. the copying is ok.

the phone is good, but, again, does not interact well with VOIP service and cannot indicate when i have voicemail waiting due to the internal answering machine.

it comes with a rather limited print ribbon/film, so i would suggest getting an extra one if you decide on buying one of these units, and use it to recieve faxes.

just about acceptable for small home office use.

2-line Panasonic Fax3
This machine is a nice size and shape. I am fairly technically apt, but I found the manual to be extremely complex. Since I am mainly using this machine to send faxes, I have not even bothered to figure out all the complex phone features yet, but have confidence that I will be able to when I need them. The thing that surprises me is the fax capacity. I thought this machine would handle at least 3-4 clean, wrinkle-free pages at a time, but it does not. I have to sit and feed the pages in one at a time or it takes 2 or 3 together or jams. I honestly thought it would do a better job. I guess it just isn't your big business fax at the office. I am satisfied, but certainly not thrilled.

Panasonic KX-FG6550 Phone/Fax machine4
This is the second Panasonic phone /fax machine I've owned. I was satified with its performance and durability. The replacement unit is smaller (that's a good thing) and it looks good too. The remote hand receiver is easy to use and the sound is clear. The instruction manual on the other hand is complex and you have to carefully read it to set up the phone. Over all I'm happy with the product.
