The Epiphone Tony Iommi Signature G-400 Electric Guitar is what you want for hardcore, heavy hitting sound. Classic SG attitude is enhanced with mother-of-pearl cross fingerboard inlays, black chrome hardware, and a matching black finish on the solid mahogany body. The slim-tapered mahogany neck is fast and the Gibson USA Tony Iommi pickups put out the firepower required for maximum destruction.

The SG Rules
I have played guitar for over 20 years and seldom, if ever have I been so pleased by the performance of a guitar.
The action is great: 24 frets and no dead spots. It plays just as evenly on one end of the fretboard as it does on the other.
The sound is classic: great crunch chord sounds and surprisingly subtle when necessary. Think "Children of The Sea" and "Sign of The Southern Cross" or "Symptom of The Universe". Rich, full, fat bottom sounds and beautiful clarity in the higher regions when soloing.
This guitar also looks cool as well: the cross inlays are nice without being gaudy and also Iommi's signature is noticeable without being overbearing. The guitar is practical, looks good and performs like a dream.
I don't know what weight problem the previous review was referring to but this guitar is great and I smile to myself each time I pick it up to play.
Have you seen the bridge ? Where's that confounded bridge...
For Years I have played Sabbath covers with my metal band. For a time I even played with a Gibson SG 1961 reissue. But it was too far from the ones Iommi uses, which are extensively customized. So I went back to more "metal" guitars, like my Ibanez RG Prestige. I was obviously very interested when Guibson decided to make Tony Iommi signature models.
But I was also desappointed, because one main thing was missing : Tony Iommi, almost from the start of Black Sabbath, removed the original bridge to put a Badass-style one. Iommi always play with this kind of bridges, and I'm sure it is part of the metal that you get from these guitars. This is one of the main modification that a Tony Iommi SG (Gibson or Epiphone) should have, but you won't find it on these signature models. Nevertheless it seems to be a very good guitar.
