![]() | The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion: Game of the Year Edition
Buy new: $27.99 / Used from: $18.42 I don't have this version of the game, but I do have Oblivion and the Shivering Isles expansion (included here) and I love, love, LOVE it. Expansive, beautiful, engaging. This is THE RPG for the PS3.

![]() | Playstation 3 Rock Band Special Edition!
Buy new: $179.00 / Used from: $65.70 I'm not a social gamer by any means; I bought this because I loved Guitar Hero III and wanted to try the drums. Soon after I broke down and bought one for my family too, because we all have a blast getting together and playing. Bonus: the PS2 and PS3 use the exact same drums, mics, and guitars, so if you get it for the PS2, then upgrade to the PS3, you only need to buy the game, not the whole set.

![]() | Lost Planet: Extreme Condition
Buy new: $19.99 / Used from: $12.80 I first saw this game only for the XBox360 and was sad because it looked very cool and like it was right up my alley. Imagine my joy when I spied it for the PS3 while browsing through the game selection at my local Walmart. Third person shooter with some mech action (for those of us who miss those old mechwarrior games).

![]() | Resistance: Fall Of Man
Buy new: $21.99 / Used from: $13.99 One of the first games I played on the PS3. Normally I don't really like FPS's, but this game was fun. I enjoyed every moment I played it and even got some time in playing co-op. Looking forward to the sequel now.

![]() | Lair
Buy new: $28.09 / Used from: $9.99 While all the controller shaking did start to annoy me and make my arms very tired, I loved that I was flying the dragon by moving the controller around. It took some getting used to and my thumbs kept jumping to the analog sticks, but once I got the hang of it it was nice to feel how much more free my fingers were to push the buttons.

![]() | Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
Buy new: $26.99 / Used from: $21.49 This game is hands-down my absolute favorite so far on the PS3. I've played through it twice and am already feeling like the sequel (in development) is way too far in the future for my impatience to stand. This is the perfect kind of game for me. Shooting and puzzles. Third person, even. And funny, too.

![]() | Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2
Buy new: $19.99 / Used from: $12.00 I will always pick a TPS (third person shooter) over a FPS. I like the wider view. This game is exactly what I look for in a TPS. The cover system rocks and your teammates actually listen to you when you tell them what to do (unlike Boomer of SOCOM fame). Here's hoping there's another one in the works.

![]() | Assassin's Creed
Buy new: $19.99 / Used from: $13.98 Go anywhere, kill just about anybody, and do wicked cool dives off very large towers. How much more could you possibly ask for in a game? Graphics, you say? In this game, they are top notch. If I were to describe my perfect RPG, it would be everything about this game mixed with the expansiveness of Oblivion.
|
![]() | Fallout 3
Buy new: $24.98 / Used from: $18.00 If you haven't heard about this game you've been living under a rock. For over a year I've been almost wetting myself in anticipation of even just a new trailer, let alone the actual release of the game. A shooting game that plays like an RPG. And it's being developed by the same studio (Bethesda) that produced Oblivion. Which sets the bar pretty high in my book.

![]() | Grand Theft Auto IV
Buy new: $26.99 / Used from: $18.00 I can't believe I forgot this at first. Will be released in the next two weeks and is one of my most anticipated games ever. I will be spending a lot of time over the next couple of weeks sitting in front of my PS3 wishing this game was already on my screen.
