Somewhat Awesome Games on Wii
By an Amazon.com customer
Super Smash Bros. BrawlSuper Smash Bros. Brawl
Buy new: $45.99 / Used from: $23.98
The biggest Nintendo Wii game of this holiday season. The two predecessors to this game were some of the best selling and best multiplayer games on the Gamecube and Nintendo64. This game looks to deliver the same party fun on the Wii.
Zack & Wiki Quest for Barbaros’ TreasureZack & Wiki Quest for Barbaros’ Treasure
Buy used from: $11.44
A point and click adventure. This beautifully cell shaded game looks to be one of the best and most easily overlooked games hitting the Wii this year. Despite the cartoony look it is supposed to be surprisingly hard and smart. Besides Brawl, this is the only game on the list which is a definite buy for me.
Super Mario GalaxySuper Mario Galaxy
Buy new: $45.49 / Used from: $26.00
Claimed to be the successor to Super Mario 64. Thanks to some nice lighting effects this game looks somewhat visually stunning. and fun too.
Lego Star Wars: The Complete SagaLego Star Wars: The Complete Saga
Buy new: $17.99 / Used from: $12.00
Lego + Star Wars may seem like an odd idea, but from what I've seen it's quite funny and rather fun. This game brings the two original games covering all 6 movies into one package with plenty of extras.
Beautiful KatamariBeautiful Katamari
Buy new: $109.94 / Used from: $29.99
Rolling objects into large balls in Katamari makes a strange whimsical experience. It's one of those strange quirky games which is purely awesome. At least at some point in time this game was headed to the Wii, although it's unclear whether it still is.
Rayman Raving Rabbids 2Rayman Raving Rabbids 2
Buy new: $18.49 / Used from: $11.50
A hilarious minigame collection sequel featuring wacky rabbits. It's awesome because it's funny.
Dewy's AdventureDewy's Adventure
Buy new: $14.49 / Used from: $5.25
From the makers of Elebits. This adventure game has you controlling a dew droplet. Although very childish looking and featuring terrible voice acting, this game looks quite well done. It's also got very nice graphics. It's definitely a game I want to play- I'll just have to play it in secret since it looks like it's for 5 year olds.
Mario Strikers ChargedMario Strikers Charged
Buy new: $49.99 / Used from: $19.49
Super Mario Strikers on Gamecube was quite fun for fast-paced multiplayer. This game looks to continue that with online added in.
Blast Works: Build, Trade, DestroyBlast Works: Build, Trade, Destroy
Buy new: $14.49 / Used from: $5.94
A shoot-em-up game based off of Tumiki Fighters in which you power up your ship by adding blocks from enemy ships.
Geometry Wars: GalaxiesGeometry Wars: Galaxies
Buy new: $28.99 / Used from: $9.00
This game originated as the best downloadable game on the xbox live service and has been expanded upon into a full game. A multi-directional shoot-em-up game, it's rather pretty.
No More HeroesNo More Heroes
Buy new: $34.88 / Used from: $13.25
Suda51's punk-influenced game with great art style. The game could totally suck, but there's something quite lovable about the style and attitude.
Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock BundleGuitar Hero III: Legends of Rock Bundle
Buy used from: $49.79
Guitar Hero seems a bit overhyped, but it's a fun way for wannabe rockers to get their rock on.
Resident Evil: The Umbrella ChroniclesResident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles
Buy new: $19.49 / Used from: $12.79
This game tells the story of Resident Evil through an on rails light gun shooter. Light gun games in general are fun for a classic retro feel.
Boogie (Microphone Included)Boogie (Microphone Included)
Buy new: $29.99 / Used from: $14.05
I'm not too into music games but this one looks interesting. This game lets you make a character dance on-screen via motion control. While not too difficult it looks like an interesting concept. The game also contains other modes such as karaoke and music video creation. The visual style looks quite slick and impressive.
