OK
i bought this because it has the multi-language feature which supports korean, japanese, and chinese language. and it's really helpful, only that it seemed like it doesn't support the id3 tags, so it only displays the file name which is a little bit annoying. also the shuffle options doesn't really work. but other than those, it's an awesome purchase
Good but not great
I bought the Latte 2GB MP3 player about two weeks ago... I have had a bit of time to go through all the nuances of this player and to tell the truth, it's not bad.
PRO's:
-Screen quality
-Audio quality (with earbuds)
-Menu appearance
-Storage space
CON's:
-External speaker
-Lack of playlists
-Heat sensitive buttons
-Button setup
-Screen brightness (in certain light)
-Software installation
-Radio doesn't save stations
Ok, when I first opened the box. I noticed a weird smell to the product. Like the warehouse caught fire and this was the last item they got out of the place. I charged the player up while I was loading the included software on my computer... (I will agree with some other reviews) The software can be a bit confusing in that you have to do things in a certain way. The first time you connect the player to your computer you have to have the player shutoff, Then have you computer load the device driver from the install disc, Then load the AVI transcoder on you system. There is another program on the software disc I loaded, but its all in another language so I don't know what it is for...
The screen looks awesome in low light. Audio is great with the earbuds. (External speaker sucks). The heat sensitive buttons don't always pick up right away so you may have to push for a second longer. The button setup dose change from menu to menu which can take a little getting used to. The radio has the option to save stations to memory, but if you shut the player off they're not there when you power it back on. I would have to say the most annoying thing though is the fact that you cannot create playlists... You can create the appearance of playlists, but the Latte just plows right through any folders you setup.
All in all there are quite a few things I don't like about the Latte MP3, but in the end it dose play music and video well... So if you want something that dose just that and looks sleek. This will get the job done. (Just with a few speed bumps here and there.)
