Customer Reviews
What a great value, and great product !
What a rare thing it is these days to get a product that actually delivers all the quality you expect, and then some. This is a great emergency light that happens to have a fairly bright emergency flashlight with it. Yes, it is as easy as plugging it in, but if you want to mount it under a cabinet or on a wall it won't be quite so easy.
Once fully charged (you did read the instructions about that, right?) these are quite bright lights. Are they going to compete against a 100 watt incandescent bulb? No, of course not. But for emergency lighting they are surprisingly bright. In fact, the night-light may be too bright if you are used to the old-school 4 watt night-lights.
There are multiple settings, but no matter what setting you have it on if the power goes out, one area light automatically kicks on. If you require the maximum amount of light during an outage, moving the selector switch will allow you to kick both lights and the night-light on rendering a fair amount of light for a room.
The magic is when you take the unit with the flashlight out of the base. It automatically turns on ! Click the power button on the front one more time to turn the flashlight off and turn the area light on. Once more kills both lights. Or just slide it back into base and it auto-magically turns off. Both light units are removable from the base for taking to other rooms during an outage. I find the night-light on the base along is bright enough to stop you from bumping into things, but not daylight by any means.
All-in-all the highest amount of praise I can offer is this Energizer Light on Demand was well worth the money spent, and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.
PROs : Bright, lightweight lights with fair run-times. Provides decent amounts of light for power outages. Well worth the money. Fit, finish, and quality are excellent.
CONs : AAA batteries? Seriously? These units could have used much larger batteries for longer run times. If we are supposed to be prepared for an emergency lasting 72 hours, these lights won't make it past the first day so keep regular batteries on hand.
