Amazon.com Product Description
TaylorMade continues its long-running standard of excellence with the men's r7 SuperQuad 460 driver. The r7 SuperQuad is distinguished by the company's TaylorMade Launch Control (TLC) technology, which gives golfers the freedom to alter the driver's launch conditions by redistributing 26 grams of discretionary weight in a variety of ways. While the average driver delivers a single set of launch conditions, the r7 SuperQuad offers six, letting you choose the one that generates the best combination of distance, accuracy, and workability. The system is built around a quartet of widely spaced ports--called TLC ports--that are located in the sole of the club head. TaylorMade's specialists then developed differently weighted TLC cartridges (two 12-gram weights and two 1-gram weights) that can be installed in the ports and removed again. Adding individual cartridges effectively shifts the center of gravity toward the front, back, heel, or toe of the club, depending on your personal performance needs.
TaylorMade's engineers accomplished this by expanding the use of Ultra-Thin-Wall Technology throughout the clubhead, giving them more space to add weight without compromising the structural design of the club. The company also incorporated Inverted Cone Technology (ICT) into the design to produce a highly effective Motion of Inertia (eMOI), which exceeds 5800 while still conforming to USGA standards. And thanks to the exceptionally low and deep CG and massive 460cc clubface area, it's easy to launch this driver on a high, strong trajectory to produce a long carry and phenomenal distance. Finally, the r7 SuperQuad offers a 65-gram RE*AX shaft that reduces ovaling in the mid-section to promote stability, consistency, and increased clubhead speed.

Very Good, broke after 3 months
This is my third R7 driver. I cracked the crown of the first one (a major crack, about 3/4 inch split right on the top - TaylorMade DID NOT REPLACE IT even though I was within the warranty period) on a drive that endd up being 320 yards. I still own my second R7 460, but the wrong shaft is installed for my swing. Instead of buying a new shaft, I bought the most recent model, the TP Superquad. It came with the original Taylormade "X" extra stiff shaft.
From the first hit, the Superquad TP was rock solid, sounds great as well. The face is open 1 degree, which I like. Very easy to manipulate ball flight (low, high, fade, draw) with he weights set up for straight hits. It's a very good driver. I think the extra stiff shaft really allowed me to swing hard with confidence
I usually hit the ball a very long way, averaging 280+, and hit a 370 yarder (wind aided) with his driver. On one hit, there was a familiar thunk. The crown cracked - my second cracked R7. This crack was much smaller than the first one, about the size of my pinky fingernail. I can still use it to hit 280+ drives. Although the driver plays great, I simply don't feel like buying drivers that I have personally experienced failures with and will not purchase another TaylorMade driver.
Very good driver as far as feel, control and distance. Quality control is an issue with me.
Guys...Bigger is NOT always better...trust me!
To begin with, I am a woman and use woman's clubs; with the exception of the driver. I use a mans club, always have...hey, I am pretty strong for a woman and the height is no problem. Anyway, of all the drivers I have gone through so far in my short life, this one is by far the best. It is extremely easy to manipulate your shots with this and I have no problems pulling off a fade or a draw. I love the solid sound this one makes as it strikes and I have added a good 40 to 45 yards average to my drives. This one has a well balanced feel that simply gives me confidence when I address the ball. I am a dismal flop when it comes to the large, oversized heads on many of the drivers today. Trust me, bigger is NOT always better..i know about stuff like that.
If I should loose this club, break it, or have it ripped off by my kleptomaniac sister, I plan to replace it with another. If you get a chance to try this one out do so. We had a rep come to our club and of course we got chance to try the various clubs he had to offer out. The first ball I hit with this one I knew it was love at first wack.
A driver that fits
I have had my other driver for 5 years. No matter how I swung it, the ball would go either right or left. The first time I put the R7 in my hand it went hard right. The first 9 holes of the first round was terrible. Then it started to straighten out. I hit this club more consistant with more distance. I'm on the greens in regulation more often. The club head is basically the same size as my other club. I can't seem to hit those large club head drivers. The R7 just feels comfortable in my hand. It has elevated my confidence and some of my friends kid me and say I bought a game!
