Customer Reviews

not worth the extra $3
Too gadety maybe, because there is a loss of sound quality compared to the "comply" foam without the "wax barrier". The plain "comply" foam with the open channel works in my opinion.

These are great, but you are better off getting them from the Comply website4
Great ear-bud tip replacements, sound wonderful and quiet -- super quiet.

That said, you are probably better off ordering them from the Comply website than here. I ordered these and they didn't fit in my ears. They would go in fine at first but then after a few minutes the foam expanded and caused pain. Checked the Comply website and there is actually 3 sizes (small, medium, large). Amazon only sends out medium. Granted, the Comply website does say that medium fits most ears. A way to check would be to try the 3 sizes of silicone ear-bud tips that you got with your headphones. Whichever one fits the best should be what you order. Perhaps worth mentioning is that medium silicone ones didn't cause any problems for me, they just didn't fit as well as the smalls. But medium foam definitely caused major problems for myself.

All that said, if you are pretty sure that medium will work for you, by all means order from Amazon.

These tips are great for most ears if you want isolation and comfort. Coming as a regular user of the gray Comply T-400 tips, I haven't noticed a sound quality drop from the earwax shield. It's worth the extra few bucks to keep the ear stuff from accumulating on your most precious cans.

The sound improvement that I get from my Denon AH-C551's and AH-C751's can be summed up as 'nice'. The bass is punchier and the highs and mids still hit just right. If anything, the extra sealing capability over the stock tips creates a much better isolated listening experience. I was very wowed by the jump from the stock tips to these, the experience was akin to the first time discovery of the HD-quality button on youtube.

With these tips on and seated properly, it's almost like wearing earplugs. Don't expect to hear much of what's going on around you. Microphonics are still there, but can be mitigated as usual by doing things such as putting the IEM's upside down and putting the cord over the ears.

Depending on your usage, be prepared to buy these pretty frequently as the foam deteriorates and gets downright nasty over time. That would be my only gripe about 'em. I use my IEM's daily at the office for about 2-4 hours, and the tips last about a month and a half before I switch them out.
