![]() | Cowon 16 GB Portable Multimedia Player (Black)
Buy used from: $135.00 Cowon is well known for making high quality mp3 players. The D2 is fantastic, plays a zillion different file types, can be expanded with an SDHC card, and sounds superb. Bonus for playing FLAC files (my file type of choice).

![]() | iriver Clix Rhapsody 4 GB Digital Music and Video Player (Black)
A tiny little player (about the size of a credit card) with a very sleek interface, good sound quality, and a 'coolness' factor that I think exceeds the Ipod Nano, but with even better sound. Why own what everyone else owns when you can get an Iriver Clix?

Sony Style. They really do have a style, and this player is a good example of it. High quality sound, a good interface, and a nice player size. Doesn't have an SDHC expansion slot. Does have a 5-band EQ.

![]() | Apple iPod classic 120 GB Black (6th Generation) OLD MODEL
Buy new: $225.98 / Used from: $168.99 Bet you didn't think an Apple product would make this list since I said I wasn't an Apple fanboy right? Well the Ipod classic is not a great portable play sound quality wise, but if you use the digital out, and encode your music in Apple Lossless, it does make a fantastic jukebox. Get a good conector and run it into your stereo. Cheap option to have all your CDs instantly at your touch.
