Amazon.com Review
Equipped with an exceptionally powerful 280-watt motor, this versatile appliance is a combination hand mixer and hand blender. For mixing, beating, and whipping, there are two cunningly designed beaters that produce volume while reducing splashing. For kneading, there's a strong dough hook, and for blending, there's an attachment that can be used in the accompanying 2-cup container (or any container) for small jobs like salad dressings. For chopping, the power unit attaches to another container with its own blades to make quick work of nuts, onions, hard cheeses, herbs, garlic, and meats. (The container's base serves as a snap-on plastic lid for storage.) The mixer/blender has three speeds and a power-pulse button for working through tough jobs. It stands upright on a nonskid base, and its power cord pivots to stay out of the way or can be locked in place. This appliance carries a one-year warranty against defects. --Fred Brack

Awesome product!
I had a Black & Decker hand mixer, which was underpowered and tended to splatter. I also ha a Black & Decker food processor, where cleanup was messy and food tended to stick to the sides of the bowl, resulting in a lot of waste.
The Braun M880 mixer attachments feature a unique design which eliminates or minimizes splatter. An onion did not stick to the bowl of the chopper attachment and came out very uniform and finely chopped. I was able to knead dough for a pizza with ease. The amount of power in the blender attachment surprised me at first, tending to create a suction effect and drew the blender toward the bottom of the pot when I blended some tomatoes. The tomatoes also came out very uniform and nicely pureed.
I've replaced two tools with one and have added functionality.
Overall, this is an excellent product with a very clever design.
Multiple Attachments Make This A Winner
I've used this little mixer more in the past couple of weeks than I ever used my stand mixer in ten years. It is so convenient to use, and it's small enough for easy storage.
The chopper attachment is powerful and the cleanup is easy. I've used it for all sorts of veggies, and even minced fresh ginger in it. Fresh salsa was a breeze and SO much better than store bought.
The stick blender works great. The motor is so powerful that you actually get a suction effect on the bottom of the bowl. The mixer is also powerful--it handled a cake mix with ease.
I would have given it five stars, but I thought (from reading another review) that it came with a wall mount to hang it. This does not come with a wall mount, so storage isn't quite as convenient as I had hoped.
A good buy
If you don't have the space or the money to invest in three products--a mixer, blender, and mini-food processor--this is a great deal. (It also has dough hooks.) I just bought my second one. The first wore out (motor began to die) after about 8 years of nearly constant use. Some of the plastic parts are delicate--I dropped the chopper adapter soon after I got it and it chipped--but still worked. After about 7 years--the blender shaft broke. (There is a model called the M880M that has a steel blender shaft--but it's really hard to find.) I was able to find a replacement part rather easily (on-line) for about 8 dollars. Someone who cooks a lot might want a larger food processor that could support different blades and slicing disks--but this works well on many items--nuts, tomatoes, onions, etc. The chopper also has a lid for storage--which is a nice plus. The hand blender is nice for small jobs too--a smoothie, or to blend some soup. Again--if you really use the blender a lot or for large volume items--you'll probably prefer a stand-alone product. The mixer is fine for all needs. It beats egg whites, butter, and anything else I've tried quite well. The whole thing cleans very easily as well and is quite easy to use and store. A good buy.
