Stainless modern storage4
This is another stainless device for the modern kitchen environment. It is Euro-slick, designed in Germany and made in China.

The foil and wrap feed out of slots and when you have pulled out the length that you need, you slide the little cutters back and forth so it is cut off cleanly and leaves a half-inch to grab next time. This is nicer than ripping the wrap along serrated edges out of a box.

You HAVE to pay attention to the way the rolls feed out. Read the directions. The foil cannot be all wrinkled as it will not feed through the narrow slot. Use two hands to pull out the wrap and foil evenly. Keep the sliders off to the side when pulling out the wrap.

You soon learn how to neatly use the sliding cutters. They have little cutting wheels and require a bit of pressure to cut neatly. You will figure that out quickly.

Loading and feeding the wrap through the slots can require three hands. You know how plastic wrap is. However, once the rolls are properly installed the unit is a neat way to store three rolls of what was once hidden in drawers or messing up your counter. And the plastic wrap comes out nicely from this unit and is easier to keep flat and not all clinging in a clump like when you pull it out of a box.

It is a useful device, but I took off a star because loading it is a little difficult. Nicely made, could be a little less expensive. Glad I got it.

Edited review: having lived with this for awhile, I am changing the review. It is simply too finickly. You have to be dedicated to keep using it as the foil keeps tearing. I paid $50 for this thing so I make it work no matter what, but my wife just throws the rolls of foil in a drawer and won't mess with the jams or reloads.

I like getting the plastic wrap, foil and paper towels organized, but this device requires too much attention for what it does.

Attractive ... nuisance.3
This is a new iteration of an earlier version also by Leifheit which was made of plastic. I owned two of those because when the original broke beyond repair I had holes in my kitchen wall that other holders did not line up with -- so I bought it again. Very neat and nice looking and worked pretty well, bearing in mind the "finicky" nature of this beast as reported in another review. Sadly, the second purchase also failed in a short time (too soon, to my view) in the same way as the first: the rod that slides into the paper towel core broke very soon; I replaced it with a wood dowel. Then the side parts, that held the rod/dowel secure when tugging on the paper roll, gave way. I "fixed" that with strips of duct tape that needed replacement every second or third time I put in a new roll. What a pain ... but as I say, there were those holes so I tolerated it ... until iteration #2 finally went the way of all flesh. Now I see this new spiffy stainless model which appears to be sturdier, at least, although the mechanics are the same. I will buy it and try it, remembering that Einstein's definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. N.B. The original would not accommodate the current fatboy paper towel rolls. Will this one? Tune in tomorrow ...

not for prime time1
One liner: Two engineers at my home and could not get it to work smoothly (paper jams or not clear cuts or ..... ) without thinking of modifying the design.

Returned - but thats me/us :-)
