Customer Reviews

Best wii game i have!!5
Ok the controls are hard at first but you will get better with practice. The best parts are that there are a lot of tournaments. You will start with ok gear, but you will get better gear fast. Field creator (where you make your own paint ball field) is fun but you can only have 25 bunkers. In exhibition mode you can use your created field or you can do normal or woods ball. Woods ball has 5 fields which are cool but dark, and therefore, really hard to see your opponent in. But it's still ok. The game is only 1 player and I think it would be fun to have the option for more players. You can buy Wii zappers to hold the remote and numchuk, which might make it even more fun, but I don't have this.

More realistic than I expected5
This game does an excellent job of imitating actual paintball, from the sounds to the movements. When I bought NPPL Championship Paintball 2009, I wasn't expecting a quality title. I figured it would be a decent diversion, but nothing more. I was wrong. Very wrong.

NPPL offers a video game experience that closely imitates actual paintball in pretty much every way. The enviornments, physics, and actual gameplay make you feel like you're really on the field. Your paint balls shoot just like in real life (aiming done via the pointer in the Wii remote which adds even more realism, and your triggers are the C and Z buttons so that you can shoot rapidly with two fingers like in real paintball). You can perform moves such as sliding, leaning, and snapping (leaning/snapping performed by twisting the wii remote). The sounds really immerse you into the paintball experience as well. It's all here, and better than I could have expected.

You can create custom tournament stages, although you can't make your own woodsball fields. However, there are 5 woodsball fields that you can play on, and they're pretty cool. You can play Career mode in which you actually choose your team and upgrade equipment (and there's tons of equipment to buy in this game) as you go through various tournaments. There is a Quick Play mode for jumping right into the game, and an Exhibition Mode for choosing the details (map, number of rounds/players, your team, and game type [capture the flag, center flag, elimination).

Teams are comprised of up to 7 players, and you can decide how your team will breakout and what bunkers they will intially run to. You can also issue commands via the control pad such as to hold back or do an all out charge. There are also some handy training exercises to do, explained to you buy Team Dynasty members.

The only problems I have with this game are a lack of multiplayer (would have been so cool!) and too much loading. Loading isn't so bad since you get some paintball tips to read, but it can be a little bit much sometimes. I almost considered giving this game 4 stars instead of five due to the lack of multiplayer, but it's just so fun as a single-player game that I couldn't. If you like Paintball, you will love this game.

good for paintballers3
NOn-paintballers: rent it, play it for a weekend, then move on with your life. Paintballers: A great way to scratch the itch when weather or money won't let you out on the fields. Definately recommend to all paintballers with the wii.
