Amazon.com Product Description
Perfect for waffle lovers, this four-slice waffle maker produces thick, delicious waffles that are crispy on the outside and light and fluffy on the inside. Simply brush the nonstick waffle plates with cooking oil, poor batter in the middle, put the lid down, and it's ready to go. For added versatility, the appliance quickly converts into a griddle--simply reverse the cooking plates and open the lid 180 degrees to lay flat. The waffle side makes four large waffle slices, and the griddle side works great for eggs, bacon, and more, plus offers a grease-draining spout. Other highlights include a variable temperature control dial, a power ready indicator light, and brushed stainless-steel housing for an attractive look in any kitchen. To clean, hand wash the reversible plates and wipe the exterior down with a damp cloth. The unit stands on its hinged end for neat and compact storage, and a user manual with delicious recipes comes included. The appliance measures approximately 12 by 13 by 7 inches and carries a one-year limited warranty.

Suprising, but it works well4
Honestly, it's true that this waffle iron is not as big as it first seems in the picture. I was surprised when I opened the box. But that doesn't take away from the waffles it produces. and the real secret is in what I didn't know it would do. You can reverse the waffle iron non-stick sides, and turn it into a Griddle, or even better a sandwich cooker. The hinge of the waffle iron can lift up and it can perfectly toast a good sized sandwich, which makes it a good multi-use device. As has been said in previous reviews, it is not that large and the waffle portion is not that deep, but if you are looking for a good consolidating waffle iron, this is an excellent tool. If you're looking for an exclusive, supreme waffle iron, look elsewhere.

Works well4
I bought this to replace a smaller Cuisinart waffle iron that conked out after at least six or eight years.

This uses almost one cup of batter to make four 4" x 4" waffles. Because of the size, it goes through a batch of batter pretty quickly.

The iron has a control knob that sets temperatures and levels of waffle doneness. It works pretty well. I noticed no uneven heating, but I always give the iron several minutes to warm up. I make an entire batch of waffles and freeze most of them.

The waffle grids are Teflon-coated and the non-stick surface works fine as long as your batter has enough butter or other shortening and/or you grease the grid when you start. I was alerted by other reviews to exercise care in pouring the batter. I find an amount just shy of a cup (probably more than 7/8 cup) fills the four sections, resulting in no overflow. What little overflow I had during practice cleaned up easily.

The plates can be flipped to make a griddle, but I doubt I'll have occassion to use that feature. I think I noticed a couple of reviews which knocked the hinges. They are not substantial, but seem perfectly adequate for the job they need to perform.

In summary, this is a large waffle iron which functions well. It's a simple device that works well.

not my last waffle iron1
Too expensive for the construction. Unable to create a good waffle due to the thinnest of the waffle plate indentations. I will keep trying to succede.
