Perfect little sandwich maker
Love this little machine! The three different style heating plates are removeable and dishwasher safe which makes this little thing super easy to clean. The capacity it pretty good too. I've used french bread for some sandwiches and it still smushes down and latches. It's also pretty space saving as well.

Bella Cucina sandwich maker
I bought this b/c I was looking for a sandwich maker, and it seemed handy to have the option of making waffles or having a grill as well. As it happens, we've only used the sandwich plates so far, but it's nice knowing the other possibilities are there.

At first I thought the plates seemed rather flimsy, compared to fixed plates, but it's turned out to be very convenient and easy to clean since the plates can be removed and the melted cheese etc can be got off much more easily than if I had to dig down between the plate and the frame. I'm very satisfied with its performance. It does not seem to switch itself off when it reaches its highest temp setting, though, which would have been handy to avoid burning the food, but I don't know of any in that price range that do that, so maybe it's not even fair to bring it up.

Some popular sandwich combos in our house, in case you're wondering whether everyone in your household would eat hot pocket sandwiches: pepperoni, mozzarella, and ketchup for my son, prosciutto and pear and brie for me, and bacon and pepper jack with mustard, or turkey with lingonberries or cranberries for my husband. Dessert sandwiches: banana with curry ketchup, and apple with cinnamon, sugar, and lemon juice (my son prefers peanut butter and Nutella). These and other combos have become the standard lunch at home for us.

Easy to clean, cooks great
Used this last night to make ham and cheese. I used real ham (not lunch meat) so the sandwich was quite thick. Did not have any problems with the latch not closing. EASY to clean, the trays pop out and have cool tabs to you don't have to worry about burning your fingers.
