This story is so suspenseful and well-drawn and it's fun to do the voices. We use it at mealtime with the little ones to encourage bite of a new food -- we'll turn the page after you take a bite...

A babysitter brought this over one day to read, and she did the greatest Gruffalo voice, and the kids just LOVED it! So we got our own copy and now I do the voices, too. Even first-and second-graders like to have this read aloud to them. It's FUNNY!

Get the hardcover -- you are going to want to keep this for many years! Read this aloud and act out the clomp-clomp, wiggle-wiggle actions. At the end of the sequence, you get to yell BOO really loud! It's our favorite fall book, even up into grade school. It's darling. And there's nothing to fear!

Get what you want without complaining, griping, or throwing a fit. Get the satisfaction of a job well-done. GREAT for kids to learn.

Magic wishes are exciting. Magic pebbles are exciting. But in the end, our family doesn't need magic wishes. We have everything we could want right here, just being together. That's the message of the story. It instills confidence in your child that he or she is loved -- loved bigger than big.

I love this story from my childhood. But I always found the illutrations kind of scary in my old version (which I still have). Those three-color woodblock illustrations were hard to decipher and the red looked a lot like blood. This is a retelling (and simplifying) of the story line, the love of a child for their favorite toy.

I Spy early readers are mostly pictures but they will pull your child into the book. Make books fun and kids will keep picking them up. Thank you I Spy for instilling a habit of "books are fun" in my kids.

A pretty easy level 3 -- very funny! Fluffy's face is completely cute.

Completely amazing for all ages. preschool to high school ove this. Moms and Dads, too! This is the book I send along with a child for spending time with Grandpa. Reading it and looking at it is wonderful bonding time.

The best of the Nate the Great books -- funny, charming, and pleasant. Nate the Great is a normal, dry, funny little boy. And hungry!

This is a confidence-inspirer. Prairie kids get a letter from their dad, with a map, and they have to follow the map 150 miles to their dad's new homestead. Really excellent pioneer story.

My boys love to act out the action scenes in this book -- fending off shark attacks, especially. Really great, and it's science for them, too!

Help your child with the tough words (Anchorage and Diphtheria) and watch them love this book! Good for bravery and perseverance.

This is so much fun for parents to read out to children. It is full of laughter and the moral of the story is wrapped in humor. Great for reinforcing how proud you are of your child.

A great story about ornery behavior, action curing depression, and friendship despite adversity. Read it out loud to them -- it's wonderful! You get to do the accents a little.

Your kindergarteners and up will like when you read this to them. There is no "bad guy" -- mostly a race against time. All the main male characters demonstrate sensible, manly (and boyish) behavior. This is RARE in literature, and therefore to be highly prized. We have liked all these Bartlett books -- Ice Voyage is the first.
