Amazon.com Product Description
Tired of your butane fuel canister wavering unsteadily while your Brunton lantern or stove pumps away? Turn to the CanStand, which locks underneath a standard canister to give it a rock-steady base. The CanStand sports three splaying legs with rubber grips, helping it stick to large rocks, stumps, and any other relatively flat camping surface. And at 4.6 by 0.9 by 0.8 inches (W x H x D) when folded, the unit takes up minimal space in your pack. The CanStand is compatible with most 4- or 8-ounce isobutane or propane canisters and weighs 0.7 ounces.

It works, but be very careful not to break the legs!
I purchased one of these, and the first time out of the box I tried to spread the legs, only to find one of them snapped off very easily. It turns out that one of them is a stationary leg (not described in the instructions), and does not move. It has a pin that extends through it, locking it in place. The other two legs do move, but this should definitely be explicitly expressed in the instructions -- which it is not.
Other than that, the can stand seems to work fine, I am just disappointed in the instructions.
Great!
I have now used this stand on four backpacking trips. It makes a huge improvement in the stability of my stove...especially if using the small fuel cannister. Also, since it is a tripod, it is much easier to find a suitable location for the stove. Uneven surfaces are not as much of an issue now.
Obviously, it is made of plastic so I have been somewhat careful with it. However, I don't think I've even come close to breaking it...that would require a little force or carelessness.
It is ok but can be better
I'm a little bit dissapointed with this canstand. My main complaint is that the canstand does not fit perfectly to the standard "tall" butane gas cylinder; I mean, it is a little bit loosy and it is why can't give a perfect support to the gas cylinder.
You can mount on it the mentioned cylinder, but if someone accidentaly moves slightly the table the lamp/stove has a high probability to fall down for sure.
