Product Description

A Groqit (rhymes with 'rock it') is pocket-dwelling device that reads and remembers barcode information. It can hold hundreds of thousands of barcodes and related information and do lookups in seconds. You use it at home to compile and store barcode numbers from your music, video, book and other personal collections, then bring it with you when you go shopping. -- It can be used to read barcodes (UPC or EAN) of books, DVD's, games and so on, which it then compares to its stored lists of what you already have. -- Notes: Groqit cannot be used as a direct input device for POS or a PC. The contact reader will not work with jewelcases.

Customer Reviews

More than just a nifty Gadget4
There's quite a bit more to a Groqit than meets the eye. It involves a whole "Personal Inventory Management" system. Most of that system can be used for free! No purchase required.

Using the free tools at the Groqit site, anyone can create, organize, and share lists. Data resident on the site's servers offers quick help, e.g. typing in a book's name, further information is offered (Author, ISBN, UPC) as well as barcode translation. The site has huge databases on movies, books, music and games.

Yes, the gadget is great to have. Why? Taking my lists to the store so I can look up which books I already have by my favorite (and prolific) authors, so I don't get duplicates as I sometimes used to.

Also, having a little barcode reader totally independent of a computer lets me wander around doing data entry where my books are, not where the computer is.
