For protecting the floor of your tent as well as protecting against ground damp be sure to lay down a ground tarp that is about an inch smaller than the footprint of your tent.

It's more organized and less awkward to have a good space for food preparation. This can be set-up in 6 different configurations! I especially appreciate the sink and not just for washing dishes. . . it is such a luxury to be able to easily wash your hands with soap and water while camping.

A collapsible colander packs flat and is very versatile. It can be used as a vegetable steamer in the 3 qt pan, or as a pasta strainer and washing berries. Yes it does stand up by itself when pushed out to full size.

A lantern is another basic necessity when camping. Again choose a lantern that best meets your needs. LEDs need less power and have a brighter light. This lantern doesn't even need batteries. (* I have not used this product.)

For single beds these cots are comfortable and wonderfully versatile. I also really like the legs on this cot because they are less likely to puncture a hole in the tent floor.

A screen tent is wonderful for providing shade AND providing some protection from flying insects, as well as rain. This mesh will convert the Columbia gazebo into a really nice screen tent.

This table is just so cute, lightweight and SMALL. The stools are great used as end tables and bedside tables.

Don't underestimate the importance of choosing items that are color coordinated with the tent. Good functional design has the ability to make life more comfortable; conciously coordinating a color theme for all the stuff will help you feel calm where otherwise things can look cluttered. I'm not suggesting you run out and buy new bedding; only that you consider color when choosing what to bring.

Two feather pillows per person are heavenly. Remember: a down blanket/feather pillows can NOT be cleaned easily -expensive oversized dry-cleaning. Some might consider choosing items you can throw in the wash when you get home.

A 72x80" moving blanket makes a nice rug in your tent; can also be used as a picnic blanket outside. I like the looks of this pure wool blanket but if you throw it in the wash it will shrink to doll-size.

This french press is perfect for boiling water and then making lovely coffee or tea drinks. But its expensive so good only if you are careful when cooking and cleaning. If you are a more distracted cook choose something easier to replace -you already know how stainless discolors when its been left on the fire too long.

I like to pack dishes, spices and cooking pans in a picnic basket. I especially like the shoulder strap and pull out drawer on this one. When not camping you can also use it for picnics; imagine that!
