Solid (Budget) Bowling Shoes! Perfect for Beginners!
I have some friends who are avid bowlers, and after tagging along a few times, I decided to join in on the fun. Shoe rental at the local Brunswick runs about five bucks a pop, and I quickly realized that if I was going to bowl with any frequency, shoes would be a worthy investment. So I paid the pro shop a visit and ended up walking out with a pair of these Etonic Glo-Skulls for about $40.
I've gone bowling sporting these kicks several times, and I'm happy to report that I am completely satisfied with them. While there's nothing particularly spectacular about them, they are both comfortable and functional. They feel like a regular pair of sneakers, which is a definite upgrade from rentals. And of course, they are smooth on the bottom so you can bowl in them. Plus, because these are my shoes, I no longer have to deal with the funk of random strangers' feet--any funk in these babies is all mine! ;-)
I consider the skull design an added bonus. The skulls add a bit of extra flair to my game, and they glow under black lights, so they're perfect for midnight bowling AKA cosmic bowling!
If you're a pro bowler looking for something fancy, then you're probably better off looking for more sophisticated (and more expensive) shoes. But if you're a casual bowler who hits the lanes every now and again and you want the benefits of owning your own shoes--namely, saving time and money--I recommend you check these out. They're a solid, straightforward pair of shoes that will allow you to bowl in comfort and style.
PROS:
- Reasonably priced
- Comfortable
- Functional
- No random foot funk
- Fun design
CONS:
- None
These shoes are bad-arse!
I just joined a bowling league and I was told to buy my own shoes. I bought these babies and I am happy with the purchase. Not only are they my own, so I don't have to put my feet in nasty shoes, but these things are comfy and stylish. I have gotten many comments on them! Highly recommended.
