Different Feel, Great for Me
Every shoe is obviously different for every person. I went to a local running store with a very knowledgeable sales person, and I tried on about 10 pairs. This shoe felt entirely different. It was so soft, it almost felt like I was on springs. It was extremely comfortable to me, so I decided to try it out. An added bonus was that I use the Nike + ipod and could use the slot in the sole for the pedometer.
I'm rather injury prone and am currently training for a marathon, and I've had no injuries with this shoe. I'm ready to retire these and move on, and I will probably get the same shoe again. My long runs have exceeded 18 miles, so I've put a lot of mileage on them with nothing bad to say. Overall, this shoe has been one of my top performers over the years. I don't recommend shoes because every foot is different, but it's worked for me.
Flawed Stitching Caused Severe Irritation
BACKGROUND: I am 6' 2", 205 lbs, and I run 20-25 miles a week. I've been running for almost 2 years, and I've used the New Balance MR1062SB exclusively until now. I am no longer am to find my size, and the MR1063 was a non-starter due to having a higher arch.
EXPERIENCE: The fit and feel of the Nike Zoom Vomero+ 4 was different than what I was used to, but I thought I had my replacement for the New Balance MR1062SB. One 6.5 mile run was all that I needed to know that this would not be the case. My right foot was very irritated on top just beyond the joint of the big toe. Feeling around inside, I found a flaw in the stitching that matched my trouble spot. There's no way this was going to work for 300-500 miles. Back to the drawing board...
