From the Manufacturer
The Graco playard blends practical baby care in a decidedly convenient, dramatically different and unique way. Accented with elliptical aluminum legs, these silhouette styles pack ‘n play playard blends flowing lines, ideal proportion and purposeful details to define quality and comfort. Its distinguishing characteristics include the pivoting posture, plus changing table that fits your life with decidedly functional, dramatically different and uniquely convenient height. it allows you to stand more naturally with less back strain while changing diapers. The cozy, oval bassinet embraces your baby with carefully applied details like Graco signature quilting. Unlike traditional quilting methods which create holes in the fabric allowing leaks and spills to seep through and dirty the padding beneath, Graco signature quilting is ultrasonically quilted to prevent seepage, ensuring a cleaner, neater nap time. The baby basics organizer with built in wipes case and diaper organizer blends practical baby care with style and flair. The innovative squeeze latch adds graceful detailing and natural folding motion. Your little one can sleep peacefully under the full slumber dome canopy which shades the bassinet with calm, charming influence. If your little one needs a little extra soothing, the deluxe electronic mobile allows you to use 2 speed vibration which is mounted under the mattress pad so your baby will receive the full soothing benefit, or try one of the five tranquil nature sounds or calming songs. This comes with a timer that has 4 settings, so there's no need to disturb your little one once he or she has drifted off to dreamland. If you do want to take a peek, there's a built in night light. This premium playard will have you and your baby setting trends in fashion, form and function.
Customer Reviews
Love this pack ' n play
I bought this to complete the coordination of other items I purchased for my son from this product series and I am very pleased with my choice. the quality is excellent and to my surprise very easy to put together. My only issue is the volume on the electronic mobile is very low even when turned up to the highest level is barely audible. I absolutely love the colors and the fabrics and it coordinates perfectly with my blue and brown theme for my son.
Very pleasant looking bassinet and changing table
Pros --
Its a very pleasant color, chocolate brown, with a light blue green print. Doesn't look busy/glaringly out of place in our kitchen or our living room which have traditional cabinetry.
This townsend model comes with a vibration feature which is nice if your baby likes it. You may want to figure out whether a mobile, a play arch with toys or the vibration feature are most attractive for your infant and pick the model accordingly. I picked vibration, since you can always add a tiny love play arch later.
The changing table on this model is at a nice height if you are petite, its a bit low for my husband who is just about 6 ft tall.
Cons -- The music and white noise selections are inaudible. I have the matching swing, where this actually works for comparison.
There is very inadequate storage. My arms reach co-sleeper playard/bassinet for e.g. has nice pockets on four sides where you can stash extra blankies, changes of clothes, diapers etc. but of course doesn't have the nice changing table. The two pockets on the changing table just about hold 3 -4 diapers on one side. a travel size pack of wipes, and maybe a tube of desitin / baby lotion / powder on the other side. Totally inadequate to use as a self contained changing station.
Save the box
We purchased this bassinet and are getting a lot of use out of it. We have it set up on our first floor while our baby's room is on the second floor which allows us to change her diaper without going upstairs and set her down while we do dishes, etc. Our baby loves the vibrating aspect of this product. We loved that it can serve many purposes, will be useful as she grows, looks cute, and had the potential to be portable (take to grandma's house, vacation home, etc.).
Our problem with this product is that setting it up the first couple of times went fine but are now having problems to the point that we're afraid that if we break it down we won't be able to set it back up, defeating the purpose of it being portable. We may have a defective product and if I kept the box, I would try and exchange it for another.
When you set it up, the four side bars are folded in half, you take two parallel sides by the middle handles, lift up, hear it click and they lock in place. Then you do the same with the last two parallel sides. After breaking this product down and setting it up a couple of times, we are having difficulty getting the sides to lock and are finding ourselves wrestling with it, getting one side to lock, moving to the other side and watch it fall a part again. Frustrating to say the least. Again, it might just be a bit of a lemon but I'd save the box until you've set it up a half a dozen times. I generally keep a box until a product has shown to work the first time but regret that I didn't keep it longer in this case.
