Customer Reviews

Extraordinary Car Seat - Peg Perego Primo Viaggio SIP 30/305
When shopping for my Peg, I read many online reviews in my effort to purchase the best and safest seat for my son. After discovering for myself what a fantastic product this is, I was infuriated by all of the negative reviews that gave me any doubt or hesitation before my purchase. I think too often those who are complainers are the only ones to go back and leave negative comments on product reviews. Satisfied customers mostly just move on and never take the time to come back and deliver compliments. SO, here I am! Two main concerns that threw me off initially from purchasing the Peg were from negative reviews online regarding weight, and the "horse blinders" that are side impact protection in this seat. To those who really believe this seat is too heavy - hit the gym, you are wimps! This seat is NOT significantly heavier than any other car seat on the market. Do as I did, and visit a retailer who sells the seat, and try picking up a Graco Snugride (very common) and the Peg side by side. You will not be able to tell a difference in weight. One thing you will be able to tell right away between these two is a significant difference in quality. The Graco felt flimsy, shallow, had very little padding in the cushions and overall was not near as well constructed or safe as the Peg. The Peg has very solid construction, beautiful fabrics, comfortable seat and an easy to use three point harness system. To those who complain about it getting tangled, get a grip! Simply grabbing the strap at the top behind the shoulder and moving down each time will avoid this problem. The latches that secure the harness consist of one easy snap together latch in the center of the chest, and a nice, solid one button press connector that goes between the legs. I honestly cannot understand people who cannot figure this out. Regarding the "horse blinders", my son is not bothered by them at all, his head fits just fine at 4 months, and he seems to feel secure and tucked in, and falls asleep in the seat on car rides. Babies like to feel secure, not left to hang out in the open. The safety factor in this design is invaluable. I would never consider putting my child in anything less to protect his precious little head. Think about it, is that little padded donut that you have to lay in the head space of a Graco to hold the infant's head up going to protect them from a side impact? Absolutely not. Another advantage of the Peg, you do not need that silly donut head support at all.

There was a comment regarding a problem with a plastic piece having sharp edges. This was corrected in 2008 by a recall and is no longer an issue. All seats manufactured since then do not have this problem.

Other things I love about the Peg - it snaps easily in and out of the base in the car, and into the Bugaboo, the Bob, and the Pliko P3 effortlessly. Also, the three point harness is easily adjusted by one single strap and spring latch at the front center of the seat. Simply press the latch and adjust the strap as your child grows.

I highly recommend the Peg Perego Primo Viaggio SIP 30/30. I couldn't be happier with this product. For the extra money, it is definitely worth the peace of mind in safety and quality.

Painful1
I bought this product in 2008 to fit my BOB stroller. It was more expensive than the top rated car seat but my sister-in-law recommended it so we got it. If it wasn't so expensive I would have thrown it in a lake. For the first months of my daughters life she had cuts on her heels and we could not figure out why. It wasn't until I was searching for a new car seat (due to other issues) that I read some reviews on this car seat which other parents were dealing with the same issue. The company did send me a replacement part for the piece that had been cutting her but at that point she was already to big for the car seat. Also the first month the car seat was in use the cover ripped and the chest buckle broke so the company had to send me new parts. Hopefully they have corrected these issues with there 2009 model. Their customer service was good but I will never purchase another one of their over priced defective products.

Very Coveted!5
My son and daughter in law researched every car seat they could as first time parents. This was their choice for safety and this particular pattern, for looks. It's an early Christmas present because their baby is due in January. They're taking it to parenting classes for proper installation techniques. I know they'll be thrilled because this one was the winner for carrying their precious cargo.
