A trip into a Master's mind you won't soon forget!
Enslaved
By: Lady Midnight
Enter the mind and lifestyle of Derek DeWine, doctor, husband and Master. In his world a group of prestigious men, all Masters as well, run a hospital specializing in body modifications such as breast augmentation. Derek is a breast man in every sense of the word. When potential patient, Calista Carter visits his office wanting her breasts enlarged, he sees something in this former Olympic gold medal winner, something he wants for himself. He offers her a place in his project, but she needs to make changes in her ways. She needs to get off the pain killers she's been taking for her hip injury and she needs to gain weight. Calista also needs to get her head on straight and face her past.
Derek's methods are experimental and much more natural than the accepted ways of today. He uses the body's own fats to build up the breast and pain is managed by orgasm. But Calista needs more than larger breasts. She needs to place her life, her very self in the hands a of a Master she can trust, love and fully surrender to. Little does Derek know he needs a slave who can love him in the only way he requires and his wife isn't making the cut.
This is a winding tale of submission and Dominance, a world where sex is shared and controlled by these doctors. Once I began reading, I couldn't escape and I couldn't put the book down. I had to know what would happen next. I read it in three nights, the fastest I've ever read anything. While Lady Midnight shows an alternative lifestyle and brings it to light by delving deeply into her main character's head, she also shows the humainty of her character and those he protects, owns and even loves. I didn't like Dr. DeWine or his associates. I didn't like the women he so desperately needed in his life, but I don't think the author's intent was for me to like them. She offers a side I've never seen, a different way to love, to experience pleasure. She explains Derek's logic and despite my aversion to his way of thinking--it all makes sense!
I highly recommend Enslaved. It's a curious ride that will have you cringing, on the edge of your seat, sad in some places, turned on in many others. The medical modifications underwent to please another frightened me, but the characters chose their fate, accepted it and found the contentment they so needed in their lives. The end is redeeming and reveals the true nature of every player involved. I loved this book!
Erotic Page-Turner!
I've been a fan of Lady Midnight / J.J. Giles ever since meeting her when she was doing a book signing in Indianapolis. Her work takes many forms, from murder mysteries (Puss in Boots) and historical sagas (Lady Dragon) to contemporary romance (Mistress and the Mouse) but all share her scorching erotica. When she takes the reader into the dungeon or the bedroom, or even the corporate office(!) there is no place you'd rather be.
And her newest work, Enslaved, takes it to another level. This book indicates that both she and publisher loveyoudivine are really starting to find their place in the world of erotic literature. The cover is fabulous with that lithesome young thing bound in the red ropes and the teaser "Calista Carter needs two things." What?!? What two things does she need!?! At 361 pages it's an erotic work you can sink your teeth into, and Lady Midnight may very well have you gnawing on the book as you read about the exploits of a group of doctors whose practice is...well...`very' specialized.
Enslaved has a wicked setting: hospital, dungeons, "play" parties and a wonderful cast of characters, Dominant and submissive alike. It truly is an erotic page turner! I mean, really, when a chapter ends, "With a smile, I went for a whip," how can we NOT turn the page and start reading that next chapter? And when that next chapter ends with, "No, baby, I promise you. We're going to a little party. And you're the star of the show," you definitely know you're in for a late night of reading.
Lady Midnight, whether consciously or not, has given us a book that can be read on more than one level. Is it an entertaining erotic read? Most definitely! But she also provides us insight into the nature and dynamics of Dominant and submissive relationships. Besides coming away from the book highly entertained and sated (and there's nothing wrong with that!), one may also find a better understanding of some of the facets of BDSM.
While Lady Dragon and Mistress and the Mouse are JJ Giles' larger and more ambitious works (and certainly belong on anyone's shelf of erotica) I believe Enslaved by Lady Midnight to be her best work to-date. My only quibble is that it's over. The cast of characters, setting and premise provide such a wonderful environment for erotica. Lady Midnight, may we not have more? Rumors are floating among the erotic underground literati that Lady Midnight is, indeed, working on a sequel. Let us hope that is true.

Deleted this from Kindle before I got 10% of the way through!
I could not force myself to read more than several pages of this book. It is creepy, illegal, antisocial, sociopathic, if you will. Don't waste your money. Unless you consider nonconsensual, deviant, "gang rapish" type behavior your "cup of tea," I can't see why anyone would want to read this book.
