Average customer review:Product Description
Six generations of Americans have been using Granite Ware canners to preserve fruits and vegetables. The dark porcelain surface and steel core absorbs energy and evenly distributes heat to the contents. The construction is porcelain fired at 1500 degrees to the carbon steel core. The result is a canner that heats rapidly. This mini canner is perfect for preserving jams, jellies and salsa. Easy to clean. Comes with rack for easy lifting jars from canner. Granite Ware's high efficiency, quick boiling performance combined with its modest cost make it ideal for canning. Holds seven pint jars.

Granite Ware 11 1/2 Qt. Water Canner
I have the bigger version of the Granite Ware canner and wanted something for smaller jars, and that would fit better on my stove top. Since I don't can the larger quart sized jars this is perfect for smaller jars (especially 8 oz. 1/2 pints). Also, this size is HARD TO FIND, and the rack that goes inside is a smaller so handles smaller jars better.
Perfect Size
This is the perfect size canner for pint and smaller jars. It takes less water and heats up quickly. Works Great!
Water Bath Canner for pint jars
This canner is fine for pint jars except that the rack doesn't hold the jars well enough. They can tip very easily. Perhaps it should be a little taller. It serves my purpose but I have to watch that the jars don't tip. This is easier when the canner is full but more difficult when the canner only holds a couple of jars.
