New Cottonelle Ultra Is Not Better1
The new and improved Cottonelle Ultra is not better than the old Ultra.
The new Ultra is rougher than other brands and is not as soft as the old Ultra.
The new Ultra is not as strong as the old Ultra.
The new Ultra gets holes in it when it gets wet.
The new Ultra leaves paper residue and paper pieces on the user.
The new Ultra rolls do not last as long as the old Ultra.

I had used the old Cottonelle Ultra for many years and was very pleased with it. I have used 2 packages of the new and improved Cottonelle Ultra and was terribly disappointed. The qualities that I liked in Cottonelle Ultra are no longer there in the new Ultra and I would not reccommend the new Cottonelle Ultra to anyone. I will now stop using Cottonelle Ultra and switch to a different brand.

I am very disappointed in Cottonelle's manufacturer Kimberly Clark. If a product is marketed as new and improved, the very minimum I expect from the manufacturer is that the quality of the new product is equal to the quality of the older version which in this case it is not.

good but not great (three and one-half stars)4
Cottonelle bath tissue is very soft and this counts when you need to use a lot of it. Many people correctly note that Cottonelle is easier on your skin than other brands of bath tissue like Scott.

Moreover, Cottonelle never "goes stale;" if you like this product, stock up on it! The rolls are easy to store in any cabinet either as they come in one big packaged or you can open the package and distribute the individual rolls around the house. This bath tissue is also safe for both septic and sewer systems.

However, I did have a disappointment or two. First, even though this is advertised as being a "double roll," the roll has fewer sheets, so it lasts much less time than a product like Scott would. Second, Cottonelle just doesn't seem to work as well as it should. I wind up using more of it faster than I ever would have if I had chosen another brand. This disappoints me.

My second disappointment is that Cottonelle seems to have a very slight scent. If you are allergic to scents or perfumes I would try another brand of bath tissue.

All in all, if you must have soft bath tissue and you don't mind a very mild scent, Cottonelle is actually a great choice. However, if you prefer something that's more value oriented and still substantial, I strongly suggest another brand of bath tissue like Scott two ply bath tissue. It's a matter of personal preference. I will give Cottonelle Ultra bath tissue three and one-half stars because there is a drawback or two.

Good stuff5
Soft on your rear and thick enough to keep your fingers from going through. Also doesn't shread.
