About the Brand
Kashi Company was founded in 1984 on the belief that everyone has the power to make healthful changes. The San Diego-based company’s mission is to provide great tasting, all natural, and innovative foods that enable people to achieve optimal health, wellness, and weight management goals. All Kashi products are natural, minimally processed, and free of highly refined sugars, artificial additives, and preservatives.
The Name "Kashi"
In 1984, when Kashi Company founders Philip and Gayle Tauber created their unique Seven Whole Grains and Sesame blend, they considered several names for the product: Gold'n Grains, Kushi, Graino... Finally, they decided on Kashi--a synthesis of "kashruth" or kosher and "Kushi" the last name of the founders of Macrobiotics (a whole foods way of eating/living).
Later, they discovered that the word "Kashi" has many meanings around the world. In Russian, the name means porridge. In Hebrew, the word kashruth signifies simple or pure food. In Japanese, Kashi implies energy food. And in Chinese, it means happy food. To the company, Kashi means purity and healthy nutrition, and that's what you'll find in their unique blend of Seven Whole Grains and Sesame. Kashi products are foods for a balanced life.

Only 5 grams of sugar. Top rated at AOL
A great bar with coffee. Most breakfast bars, nutrition bars, power bars, cereal bars, and natural bars have way too much sugar. These Honey Almond Flax bars only have 5 grams. The order was on time and as promised, with free shipping for me.
Kids tested, mother approved
This is one of few HEALTHY snack options that my kids actually LIKE, and it has the lowest amount of sugars, which also come NOT from WHITE SUGAR, but from brown rice syrup.
only two WW points :)
Weight Watchers offers lots of 2-point bars but they're so artificial tasting. These are a great alternative. Flax & almond for good oils, lots of protein for such a small package. Crunchy, satisfying, filling. Not too sweet. I keep one in my purse at all times in case I run late -- it saves me from finding a not-so-healthy snack. These honey almond ones are my favorites; the peanut ones are a close second.
