You could do better...
You could do better to find vegetarian slow-cooker recipes by just "Googling" the concept. If you are looking for a nice reference to have on your kitchen bookshelf- this probably isn't it. I have to admit I haven't even tried the recipies out yet, but just having read the cookbook I'm disappointed. There are less than 100 pages of actual recipes in this small book, and those that are featured just really don't sound that appetizing. Additionally, the whole reason I wanted slow-cooker recipies was to be able to create relatively easy vegatarian meals- ideally prepped in the morning before work...But half the recipies require enough pre-cooking (grating, browning, boiling, sauteeing) before the ingredients are put into the cooker that they'll never be convienent while I'm trying to get out the door in the morning.
Most of the recipes are suitable for side dishes (only 32 recipies are listed as "main dishes" and even many of those don't seem to fit the bill), but I was hoping for hearty one-pot meals. Lastly, perhaps because the author is British, be prepared for tricky measurements and unusual ingedients such as passata, Greek yoghurt, harissa paste, tamarind, fennel bulbs and other items you are not likely to have regularly stocked in your refrigerator.
Another "shining" example of British "cuisine"
Really just horrible recipes. Being a glutton for punishment, I wrote off the first two failures. The third was just so horrible I had to throw away the book for fear of inflicting its contents on someone else.
