Uneven3
"Fatal Mistakes" centers around the exploits of four: Morgan, a legal advisor suffering from low self-esteem; Leila, an unhappy and confused wife and mother; Jackson, an alpha male; and Sean, a constant competitor. All of them have one thing in common - drama brought on by poor decisions.

Jamison Davis has penned a novel saturated with drama. However, I felt the book was a bit over the top with all of the sexual situations. As the drama unfolds, it does not match well with all of the sexual escapades. Also, the characters were not developed fully until the middle to the end of the book. The first chapter begins with Morgan fantasizing about Jackson but talks nothing about who Morgan is or her purpose to the story. At times it was hard to stay focused on the four main characters individually because each chapter started talking about another character instead of explaining how they all relate to each other. There were editing issues which were a distraction. Overall, "Fatal Mistakes" is a story that didn't reach its full potential, but with some fine tuning it will be a contender. I'd recommend to anyone in need of a drama fix.

Something Wicked This Way Comes3
Fatal Mistake by Jamison Davis takes place in New Jersey where the reader is introduced to some wild and crazy characters; Morgan, Jackson, Leila and Sean. Jackson and Sean are childhood friends who have basically competed for everything their whole lives, so when Sean realizes he might have the upper hand against his suave friend, Jackson, he sets out to get even. Can Sean get the girl of his dreams before Jackson?

Leila is married to Malik, a fine brother who takes care of home, but Leila desires more out of her relationship and sets her sights on the next door neighbor, Carmen. Carmen will not take no for an answer and wants more than what Leila is willing to offer. With her heart in two places will Leila be able to save her marriage or will she move forward with Carmen? Jackson is your basic gigolo who sets his sights on weak and needy women. Living with one but sexing another is his m.o.; never one to remain faithful he wants his cake and eat it too.

Cheating spouses, lesbian affairs, jump offs and just bad decisions are what fill the pages of this drama-filled book. I enjoyed reading this story which had many different paths these folks could have travelled but instead they took the road to corruption. Low self-esteem, an egomaniac, a depressed wife, and hound are all people we have encountered along our paths; some are friends and some we watch daily on television. This book was full of them and even though they were faced with making some rough choices they always seemed to pick the wrong one. They all traveled the road to dramaville, and that is what Fatal Mistakes The First of a Trilogy is all about.

I recommend this book to readers who love drama and nothing but. Pick it up; you will not be able to put it down.

"Fatal Mistakes: The First of a Trilogy: The Silent Killer" 4
4 star review

"Fatal Mistakes: The First of a Trilogy: The Silent Killer" walks you through the lives of Morgan, Jackson, Leila, and Sean who function in their everyday lives like most people, but at times making some very detrimental choices. The interesting thing is these individuals do not consciously realize how their choices will impact the rest of their lives.

Morgan, although a successful legal adviser, she has issues with self esteem which led to her diagnosis of depression and her need to take daily psychotropic medication. Jackson, the go-to man for Sam & Sam is a very dominant and controlling man in his intimate relationships. He does not see an issue with his promiscuous ways; in fact he really enjoys the variety and whole heartedly believes that every man should have a wife, mistress, whore, and a jump off. Leila, a half-way house employee; mother; and wife to her husband Malik of 5 years. She is unhappy in her relationship and finds sexual interest in women which leads to the demise of her marriage, relationship with her children and friends. Sean has some unresolved issues that he allows to take control and manifest in his mind, it brews into jealously and leads him to become verbally, physically and mentally abusive to the women he date.

Whew.....Talk about CHOICES. This book was full of them. I found the story content to be rich, real, and relatable. However it presented a few reading challenges for me, at some points I found the story hard to follow as the imagery was not superior, there were several grammatical and editing errors, and I also felt that it took too long to reveal the fundamental component of the effects of poor choices. Despite all of the items I mentioned; that if improved would benefit both the author and the readers, these items really had no effect on the main points the author succeeded in conveying. Jamison Davis did an awesome job with characterization and story implementation and I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading drama that takes you through the journey of love and lust and passionate lessons about choices.

I anxiously await the subsequent books to this trilogy.
