In this book, Connie Podesta and Vicki Sanderson show you how to develop healthy communication patterns with difficult people. This book will not help you change difficult people. That’s impossible. It does, however, offer you strategies to incorporate into your behavior that will make relationships work better for you, immediately. Highlights include:
- A description of the four basic behavior patterns (assertive, aggressive, passive, and passive-aggressive)
- Examples of concrete strategies for dealing with negative communication styles
- Why being "nice" makes aggressive behavior worse
- How you may be your own worst enemy in dealing with frustrating relationships

Customer Reviews
This book WILL change your life
This book is incredibly descriptive and instructional - with real-life examples and solutions. Very easy to read and understand.
EVERYONE needs this. It will give you the keys to dealing with practically every difficult person you interact with. It will also give you insights on your own behavior and why people may be reacting to you like they are.
This is a "life handbook" that will stand the test of time. No matter what kind of personality "type" you are, you need to READ IT, READ IT, READ IT!
It is worth the price, which is rather steep. Don't let that stop you. Buy it used or split the cost of a new one with friends you want to share it with. You'll want to pass it along anyway.
Life would be easy if it weren't for other people
Connie Podesta mixes humor with practical advise that makes sense. She uses common sense, to make you look at your own behavior in ways you never thought of before. It's an easy and enjoyable read. I'd recommend it for anyone, parents, working adults and even tween/teens to help them with their peer relationships.
