One of the two most valuable essential oil books I own!5
When a friend gave me a copy of this book, I took one look at the title - "Inner Transformations Using Essential Oils" - and decided I wasn't interested in another aromatherapy book dealing with emotions. Months later, someone else mentioned that this book is a valuable resource for information on cleansing, so I picked it up again. The subtitle is "Powerful Cleansing Protocols for Increased Energy and Better Health."

If you're looking for a gold mine of essential oil information that you won't find elsewhere, this is an excellent place to start! I always begin with the "Essential Oils Desk Reference" and from there, I go to this book. It is written by a husband and wife who are both chiropractors, so the reader benefits from their professional knowledge in both eastern and western medicine and from their experience in using therapeutic grade essential oils with their patients.

There are big nuggets and little nuggets sprinkled through the entire book. For example, in the introduction, I learned that just a drop of two of the Release essential oil blend gave the author instant results in helping with tight muscles. Reading pages 19-21 is a must for people who want to know how get more benefits from the essential oils. Dr. Deardeuff mentions putting oils on the inside of the cheeks so they will go immediately into the bloodstream. I also like the Jump Start procedure for people who want to make a big change very quickly.

Another reason I like this book is that some of the chapters summarize much of the available literature. For example, there are numerous excellent books written about how to deal with yeast infections, and Dr. Deardeuff does an excellent job of summarizing many important points. The recommended protocols are not always easy or fun, but they worked for me.

"Inner Transformations" is easy to read because the chapters are short and the sections within each chapter are also short. There are more than 10 case studies from ordinary people. I tend to trust what I am reading more when there are footnotes, and this book seems to be well documented. The index is quite complete also.
