Do-It-Yourself Course!
Hey -- do as I did. Get Singleton's Film Scheduling and his other book Film Budgeting and this one and use them together as a complete course on scheduling and budgeting. Then rent Coppola's The Conversation and watch it after doing your own schedule and budget. Much better than any $500 software program or quickie film course! Learn from a master (check out his credits on the IMDb). He knows what he's talking about.
I used this book while producing a feature film
I used this book along with a couple of other titles by Singleton while producing an independent feature from Aug-Nov 1998 ( now editing). I found it useful and direct, and the forms it contains and were helpful.
Good... but lacking
I ordered this book used... so there may be some discrepancies between a later edition and mine.
I was troubled by the fact that all the forms have "SAMPLE" stamped across each and every page. Now, I have to go a create my own using the pages as examples, instead of using what is provided in the book, which is strange because each page is perforated for easy removal. Did the author/publisher expect readers to write over the large "SAMPLE" stamp?
Othewise, I am impressed by the workbook... especially when used in conjunction with Budgeting book by the same author.
