Young Jewish couple trapped in an action adventure involving a splinter group of Muslims, the Israeli Secret Service, Messianic Jews and dreams of the Archangel Michael
Samuel Rosen passed from this life into the next with no struggle, no anxiety as the thin blade severed the artery in his throat . . . His killer calmly stepped back out of range of the spurting blood, wiped off his knife with a corner of the duvet, and whispered Allah akbar, God is great.
Far away in Bombay, Ari Ben Chaim learns that four people in his life have been murdered by unknown assassins his adoptive parents, a psychologist who treated him after he resigned from the Israeli army, even an old Englishwoman who had been his baby nurse many years before and Ari must find out why. He returns to Israel in search of answers, only to find more questions when he is kidnapped by a Muslim splinter group, escapes, and then is recruited by the Israeli intelligence service for a top secret mission into the heart of Iran s weapons program.
Meanwhile Lily, the woman he loves, waits for him in a remote Israeli village, where she tries to unravel mysteries of her own. What is the meaning of the words she discovered engraved on a stone in an overgrown convent garden in Jerusalem . . . and who is this Lord that her new friends worship? In The Samson Option, Sharon Geyer reveals worlds within worlds. The reader will glimpse ancient Biblical secrets against a backdrop of modern-day political intrigue, all the while hoping that our young hero and heroine will survive and be reunited. With her gift for action, dialogue, and description, Geyer gives readers a bird s-eye view of the landscape and people of the Holy Land, her adopted home.

An Easy Step From Non Fiction To Fiction
Thanks either to the efforts of her editors or to herself, Sharon Geyer's latest book makes what is not always an easy step from the non fiction into the fictional world. As in her previous work, Daughter of Jerusalem, the plot of The Samson Option creates an irresistable pull, allowing the reader to enter effortlessly into the flow of the narrative. Also similar to their real life contraparts in Daughter of Jerusalem, the charactors in the Samson Option ring true. By the end of the book you not only feel you know them, but also want to know more of them. Comparing the two books, Ms. Geyer's fiction is as much a vehicle for the truth in all of us, as her autobiography was for her own personal ones. In short, after being put through the ringer by this fast paced story, you're left wanting more. This is always the sign of a superb story teller. For my own part, I look foreward to her next volume.
Samson is a good option
For all of us who are sorry to see the "Left Behind" series coming to an end "The Samson Option," looks like an exciting replacement.
I had read Miss Geyer's first book, "Daughter of Jerusalem", and when I heard that she had written another book, I went right out and ordered it.
She seems to know the city of old Jerusalem quite well, which makes a lovely and authentic background for a sweet love story and a thought provoking mystery. Great Book!

BEING THERE
I just finished S. Geyer's "The Samson Option." This story is not only a good read that held my interest, but is a timely subject of ongoing turmoil in the Middle East. S. Geyer's escorted me on a walk through history, with its people, religions and customs. Her main characters, Ari and Lily come alive as they each wander on a separate and perilous journey, hoping to rekindle their love for each other. With the book's vivid descriptions, I had a great sense of being there. I could see the lava rocks, steep cobblestone steps leading to ancient buildings, and landscapes going back to the beginning of time.
I'm looking forward to journey again with Ari and Lily in Geyer's sequel entitled, "The Time of Jacob's Troubles."
