In his hard hitting book, author Keith Loy refers to the spiritually awakened mind as being the true natural state of humanity. He draws deeply from his own life experience as he exposes many of the beliefs, teachings and distractions which he found to pollute the simplicity of spiritual awakening. With a little humour and a lot of boldness he speaks in the lay mans tongue, as he takes the uncommon risk of delving psychologically into the mindset of the average spiritual seeker, uncovering many reasons why they remain as seekers and not finders. He has written this book only for those who have finally reached that `crunch time' in their search, and now feel daring enough to leave behind the spiritual search, in favour of awakening with ease to their present Reality!
IN HIS OWN WORDS: - If we could only give up searching for the extraordinary - for the weird, the wonderful and the mysterious. If we could only come to our senses, attentive to the present, uniting our attention with life just as it is; then we would find much to our surprise, that the mystery which we have been seeking for all along - will no longer be a mystery!

An eye opener!
This book opened my eyes a lot and helped me to see, that rather than getting on with the practice of presence, I have been distracted by many various spiritual subjects (what the author calls a spiritual sideshow). The book helped me to let go of much baggage and inspired me to bring my search right back to simple presence and awareness of the now moment. He asks you to let go of authority, belief or path and what he calls 'second hand opinions and beliefs' when reading this book because it is strictly geared towards discovering reality or spiritual awakening within your own personal experience. The author gets very tough at times but is also very funny as he brings you deeply into his world, giving a helpful and detailed autobiographical story about the up's and down's of his own spiritual search and awakening, hiding nothing from the reader.
The overall message is, have you found what you are looking for? If not, do you only want to follow someone else's philosophy for the rest of your life without awakening ever happening for you? It's either philosophy or reality, that's the basic theme of this book. I found it to be inspiring, useful and funny, he's not afraid to say what he has to say, and he certainly doesn't hold back with the points he's trying to make, so there's a chance that it might hit off some spiritual nerves, but if you really do want to awaken and are sick of being led astray by others, then I think this could be the book for you.
clear & honest straight talking!
This book brings a fun element into enlightenment and has plenty of kick in it. I very much enjoyed reading the before and after awakening story, which was funny at times. Like the author found from his own search, I've also grown tired of `teachers' who confuse awakening with heavy wording and contradictory philosophies. There is no confused wording in this book, he's a straight talker like no other i've ever read, and he does his damndest to clear up as much confusion and misdirection as he can. This book will be very much to the taste of all those who are willing to be honest with themselves and take a good look within.
It's nice to read a book on the subject by someone who puts a bit of life and enthusiasm back into it all, and isn't trying to be the worlds next new guru, but instead comes across as just an ordinary person like you and I, who went through an un-needed search and then got spat out the other end awakened.
A genuine and passionate book.
This is one of the most honest books i've ever read on this subject, his story is very revealing, showing how a long spiritual search is not necessary for awakening after-all. The writer eliminates the spiritual trappings one by one, and genuinely wants to simplify awakening so the ordinary guy can awaken without a long search. He flips from passionate and inspiring to humorous and casual. I liked the personal touch he used to highlight the quest of the average seeker. His book is in touch with the ground level spiritual seeker in a way that no other teacher has even touched upon! He appears to be on a mission to spare the reader any inconvenience, cost or misunderstanding in thier search, and goes to great lengths to hammer home awakening with ease. He makes it all so easy, finally we have someone with a simple and workable message.
