Product Description
In the tradition of great short-story writers like William Trevor, Alice Munro, and Russell Banks, a new collection by D. R. MacDonald, "a writer of heart-stopping beauty."--Alistair MacLeod
The unrelenting ache of the loss of a child. The haunting touch of a person you have loved and betrayed. The hollow desolation of everyday life. With All the Men Are Sleeping, D. R. MacDonald delivers a searing and muscular work. He deftly explores the misunderstandings between men and women, the nature of seduction and infidelity, the way geography shapes identity, and the heartache of longing--for home, family, and love. The mood is haunting, remarkable for its restrained passion and eloquence. Each of these stories stands alone, but together they offer a heartrending elegy for lost loves and time-forgotten places.
