The only book parents will ever need, The Safe Baby is the most comprehensive book I've ever seen on the topic of home safety. I can think of no better gift to the new family than a copy of this book. Even if you have already raised several children, there will be pages you turn down because you've forgotten to be as safe as you should.

Holtzman offers parents of young children a well-written guide on home safety. The author takes a tour of the house and the backyard, covering safety measures that apply to each room. Besides the expected areas like the nursery, the bathroom, and the kitchen, Holtzman also covers the backyard, the home office, and the basement. Chapters on fire safety, common poisonous plants, and environmental hazards are also addressed. The "Room-by-Room Checklist" and the list of resources in the appendix are handy and extensive. Highly recommended.

Absolute Must have for Mothers and Soon To Be Mothers
This book has been a real gem for my wife and I. We have learned things that we would have never thought of had it not been for The Safe Baby. Little things like avoiding the microwave for heating baby foods was great to read about in this book. It takes many different pieces of information to insure a healthy and happy baby and all of them are included in this precious book. May you enjoy it and may your child be benefited from it.

Must have for all parents!
Safe Baby is a wonderful book chock-full of helpfull tips for parents. I especially recommend the chapter on emergenies which covers everything from what to have in a first aid kit to what to do in the event of a natural disaster. Holtzman also has a great chapter on holidays. Many things she pointed out one might not think of so it was good to read and be able to keep them in the back of my mind. In my opinion, the advice in Safe Baby is key for every parent.

What a vacation!!
My sister got married a week ago in Charlotte, and I was really worried about traveling with my five month old daughter. I've had the Safe Baby for a while, but was surprised to find that there was a section I had always skipped: travel safety. This book is just so well-rounded. It fits my life and has practical advice on safety and on how to keep baby happy.
