In the spirit of this upcoming begging, we d like to offer our review of the thought-provoking and fantastic book, My Recycled Pets: Diary of a Dog Addict by Randi Berger. Go along for the ride as Berger recounts her journey of rescuing dogs through Recycled Pets Rescue, her pet rescue charity. Beginning with her childhood, My Recycled Pets chronicles the dedication of one woman to save the animals thrown out by society and how in turn those animals become angels, blessings and diamonds in the rough. A California native, Berger is one of a kind with a quick wit and uncanny ability to get right to the point. Each story reinforces why it is so important to adopt and how rescuing can be one of the most rewarding experiences life has to offer. Due to pet overpopulation, neglect and abandonment there are many loving animals without families. This poignant book offers readers the insiders look at rescuing and how through the efforts of one single person, thousands of lives can be saved. You will experience miracles along side the author that are sure to change your own life in some way. You will also see how miracles are behind every turn in life. Dog-lovers will find this book most heartwarming and inspirational. So will anyone who sees life from a more spiritual perspective. The author is a pioneer in the pet rescue movement and the book chronicles her 20 years taking in thousands of unwanted dogs and pairing them with loving owners. The book will make you laugh, cry, be inspired and feel hopeful. Unfortunately, it also makes you want to rush down to the local shelter and adopt all the unadoptable dogs. About the Author
Randi Berger is a powerhouse of ideas in action. Founder of the all-volunteer charity, Recycled Pets Rescue, she has helped save more than ten thousand pets since 1987, helped give birth to many other rescues and organized the first mobile dog adoptions in her area, funding it primarily out of her own pocket. Her success comes from her high standards, her intense focus and her never-ending proclivity for pursuing the unconventional. Revolutionary in its time, her open-house dog adoptions at popular local venues in the late nineteen-eighties set the stage for other organizations to follow suit. And she keeps going. Continuing to help both pets and their humans, she has recently taken Recycled Pets Rescue a notch higher. It now provides support and education to pet-owners and other rescues with a goal of ensuring that every person makes a lifetime commitment to their pets. Building upon her phenomenal success, through her writing, speaking and radio interviews, Berger helps encourage other organizations around the world do the same. Through her unwillingness to accept the bleak diagnoses and death sentences given to many of her rescues by the veterinary industry, Berger immersed herself in the research and application of complementary and alternative health modalities, building a network that reached the top 2% of North America with Japan's leading health care company. This has enabled her to enhance the quality of life of her rescues and has given her the reputation of creating miracles where there was no hope. Remarkably, one of Berger's rescues that was repeatedly written off by vets after being hit by a car at the age of 2, miraculously thrived past the age of 21! Today Berger is equally passionate about inspiring and coaching people to remove all limiting beliefs that are preventing them from living their dreams. Berger is a graduate of California State University at Northridge with a degree in psychology and theater. Her book, My Recycled Pets: Diary of a Dog Addict, was recognized with a Writer's Digest Inspirational Award.

World uplifting
My husband is a retired literature professor and was entirely mesmerized by this book, which was given to us as an anniversary gift. He believes that James Herriot is back here on earth. We are animal lovers but also very much enjoyed the spiritual and enlightening twists that we discovered are throughout this book. We didn't want it to end and hope that this is the first of many more books from this author.
Totally enjoyable
This is a most enjoyable book and the first I have read to tell how someone begins a dog rescue group. I got my dog from one and have wanted to know more about these groups. The writer should continue to tell her story of dog rescue and of other such groups as well. Her writing style is entertaining and informative.
Entertaining and uplifting
How nice to read about someone who selflessly and wholly follows their heart to do what is right. What a wild and spiritual journey, and a very entertaining read.
