Product Description

Astrology has been open to criticism through a large part of its long history. In this groundbreaking book Bernadette Brady gives new insights in the intensity of these criticisms by placing astrology into its initial setting, its original world of ancient creation myths linked to the great creative void. Modern chaos theory has now rediscovered this void and Brady maps astrology to chaos theory to produce "chaotic astrology". The result is an insight into fate, freewill and the nature of astrology itself implying that it is neither a science nor a religion, and suggests instead that astrology is an instrument of chaos, a fertile and pragmatic tool for understanding the patterns of life. Original and insightful as ever, Brady navigates the reader through a breath-taking journey which can change forever the way one views the world.

Customer Reviews

finally a workable paradigm for astrology5
I've been studying and practicing astrology for close to 40 years. Astrology a place in chaos presents a workable paradigm for the practice of astrology. Astrologers no longer have to get into debates about whether or not astrology is scientific. We no longer need to borrow from psychology or statistics to validate our craft

Good but not entirely original4
I'm very happy to see astrology being discussed in the light of Chaos Theory, but this work is not entirely original as the author claims. The ideas promoted here, including those to do with astrology, chaos, fate and freewill, have been in circulation for some years and do not originate with the author; many have been previously published on the internet and in the NCGR Journal Spring 1999, for example. Please give credit where credit is due.

Astrology, a place in chaos5
It is a whole different view and perspective of all our thinking about life, the world and the collective ideas we have lived upon... an unusual but logical and interesting way of thinking!!
