In this beautifully illustrated book, Master Ching Hai lovingly writes about each one of Her feathered friend's unique biography, complemented by life-like photographs and captions filled with amusing telepathic exchanges between Master and bird. As one views these colorful vibrant beings among the trees and flowers, singing their love for God, one feels a soulful retreat from the daily grind of the urban jungle. Simply opening this book of Master Ching Hai, instantly brings forth a magical forest animated with birds and flowers.
Twenty-three beautiful feathered beings, frequently seen nestling in the Master's arms, brings Her endless joy. She is often moved by their words and actions and is greatly inspired by them as well. Master Ching Hai pleasantly surprises the reader by revealing that inside these God s creations are very highly developed souls whose love know no boundaries.
Each bird comes with an inimitable life history and possesses its very own quirky personality. Some of them have had sad past making one s heart ache. Nevertheless, their funny antics will surely entertain and put smiles on faces, just the way they do to their beloved Mom. Supreme Master Ching Hai demonstrates in this work of love, the tenderest love a human can have for other creatures. Moreover, She shows how deeply animals can feel and that when one peers into their emotions a wide spectrum of feelings emerge.
Master says: "I wish we could all understand others like birds, and treat them as we would ourselves...Their companion and friends mean a lot to them, sometimes as life itself, their loyalty is so incredible! They suffer loss and sorrow much like we do." All who have birds should consider their feeling and have respect for their dignity and love."
These two hundred seventy pages of wonderful pictures and stories walk you to a world graced by beautiful birds and inspire to understand their lives and wide range of thoughts and emotions.

Review
' ...I read and reread The Birds in My Life. Each time, I gathered beautiful insights, especially on the great gift of LIFE. If we, like Supreme Master Ching Hai, see the dignity of such life in birds, why can t we see it in man? Then, the message which Supreme Master Ching Hai carries throughout the world will be ours to enjoy: the message of PEACE...' --His Eminence Archbishop Diosdado Talamayan, D.D., the Philippines
It's obvious from this book that she really has a great affinity, a soul affinity with the animal kingdom. And it's such an important kingdom that we need to respect, not only acknowledge, but respect and love. You can see from her energy right here. It's incredible! She's so attuned with the planet, with Earth, with Mother Nature, with that energy, the Mother energy. --Billy McNamara, American television and film actor

This book brings us a wealth of insights with profound feelings to the nature of the birds
The book "The Birds in My Life" that was laboriously written and edited by Supreme Master Ching Hai with nice printing, was released to encourage people to study, to share the love, and to learn how to take care of our animal friends. After reading the book, I think it was laid out so beautifully with vivacious images. The simple construction of words brings us a feeling of excitement, closeness, and friendliness toward the bird.
I feel that I am lucky to have read this book. Among the twenty two species of bird that the author is raising, some are given individual names with special meanings. For example, Brighty, Sunny, and Cheery are the names given to the birds so that they could enjoy a life full of happiness and good spirit. Free Joy is always excited about life whereas Mei Mei was given this name because of her quality of intelligence. Each species has its own characteristic. Some have noble gestures with interest in peace like Anakhan, and are liberal and elegant towards women like Free Joy. Some are loyal and talkative like Gentino, gentle and compassionate like Luvy, or just interested in scratching their own heads like Prajna. Others dangle from above like Rainbow, the rest able to understand humans like Libra.
Therefore, to me this is a book full of love, a documentary work that the author has spent a tremendous amount of time on, in her persistent work to integrate, study, research, and collect her own and personal experiences that she has toward each specie of bird. This brings us a wealth of insights with profound feelings to the nature of the birds as well as other animals around us. Reading the book will also help us relax mentally, and develops our ability to be more aware with greater understanding, and to respect the life of all beings. Furthermore, this will help enrich our life with such great joy that we will be more ready to explore the wonderful and mysterious world.
I hope that more people will read this very beneficial and valuable book, "The Birds in My Life." If you are thinking about buying a good book for your collection or as a gift to your children, or family members, I highly recommend this book.
