Amazon.com Review
Reheat homemade chili at the office for a warm meal with this innovative, single serving mug from CorningWare. From CorningWare’s smart Pop Ins line of kitchenware, the mug holds up to 22 ounces of a favorite beverage, soup, or vegetable dish.

Constructed in fine stoneware, the fluted mug design adds simple elegance to a kitchen while performing multiple functions. Freezer-, refrigerator-, oven-, and microwave- safe, the mug enables quick and easy food preparation. Just add frozen minestrone, pop the mug into the microwave, and set your steaming soup on the dinner table. The included plastic lid keeps contents fresh and is heat-resistant for microwave use. Vented slots on the lid allow steam to exit while dishes reheat in the mug, preventing steam burns or messy content eruptions. To clean the mug, place in the dishwasher or wash by hand. Soaking stoneware may damage the mug’s effectiveness. Avoid using abrasives that may cause scratches and blemishes. CorningWare offers a one-year warranty for this product. The mug weighs 1 pound upon shipping. --Jessica Reuling

Great item for use at the company microwave5
I purchased these mugs for use at work. I have used regular bowls to boil water, heat canned soups, and similar items. I was always concerned with burning myself from the porcelain or from splashing as I walked back to my desk. I later upgraded to a bowl with a small handle as that was all I could find at the time. The handle got so hot I could not hold it with my bare hands but, if water splashed from soup, it would not go directly to my hands.

Then I found these cups. They have a large handle which makes them easier and safer to hold. This is a big improvement to me. The sides of the mug are virtually straight so, as I walk there is no "sloshing" of liquid contents. The rubber cover vents well and keeps any "pops" from making a mess in the company microwave. This also serves to contain the contents when I walk briskly since there is no way to splash or slosh the contents out. The cover also serves to contain the heat a little if I am interrupted while eating or, I put some Ramen noodles in it to rest and soften up.

The only complaints I have are relatively minor. The first is the lack of thermal mass. This may be a feature to some people in that it allows very hot things to cool faster but, when placed on a cool desktop in a gentle breeze from the air conditioner it will cool off too quickly for my personal preference. The other issue is the price. At ~$6 a piece and selling individually, they seem a little too expensive for what they are. I should note that this has not prevented me from buying some more of them though ;-)

For my use at work in an office, the white exterior looks professional and cleans easily. The straight sides with cover keep the mess to a very minimum. Finally, the lip on the mug lets me "drink" the last bits of soup or noodles without dribbling or looking silly. In a pinch, it will work as an extra large coffee cup as well. Overall, this a very good product for my use in the office or at the company microwave.

Close to Perfect5
I buy a lot of soup when it hits $1 a can at the market. It makes a good, cheap lunch. I disliked having to waste paper towels as covers when heating. Many times they even flop into the soup. This was the ideal answer. The lid keeps the soup from splattering into the microwave and it saves you from having a soggy paper towel to dispose of. I've had some liquid come out of the hole, but no splatter messes. It's the best soup bowl out there and it heats more evenly than other containers. It also cleans easier than other containers. It'll easily hold a big 19 oz. can of soup. I highly recommend it.

great microwavable lunch or dinner mug5
I use this mug a lot for chicken noodle and other soups as well as salads. Its easy to clean up and to handle. I like having the lid with the pop top so its doesn't make a mess in the microwave. I fits easily in the tote bag when commuting to work. I highly recommend it!!!
