About Reebok
Reebok's United Kingdom-based ancestor company was founded for one of the best reasons possible: athletes wanted to run faster. So, in the 1890s, Joseph William Foster made some of the first known running shoes with spikes in them.

By 1895, he was in business making shoes by hand for top runners; and before long his fledgling company, J.W. Foster and Sons, developed an international clientele of distinguished athletes. The family-owned business proudly made the running shoes worn in the 1924 Summer Games by the athletes celebrated in the film "Chariots of Fire."

Quality product, but should be bundled with a DVD5
This step is an excellent investment. The MSRP is currently $79.99 (January, 2006). I've tried some less expensive steps (about half the price) but they were usually too narrow and I felt uncomfortable using it, so I didn't. This one is very stable and wide enough to allow taller people (I'm 6 feet tall) to properly perform the exercises. This one also adjusts to three heights - 6", 8", and 10" so you can increase the intensity of your workout as you increase your skills. The non-skid surface is also wonderful because as you sweat during your workout, you won't have to worry about creating a slick and unsafe surface.

Don't spend $80 trying two or three other steps, only to find them lacking and then have to spend even more money on yet another step -- start this one and be happy.

Mine came with a VHS tape containing an overview of the basic moves performed during a step workwork along with an actual workout. The audio quality of tape is poor and the camera angle changes too frequently to be able to watch any one person performing the moves. This makes it difficult when first performing the workout, but it does get easier after a few attempts.

Still, it would have been nice to have a DVD included instead of a tape. Now that we've entered the 21st century, I think more people own DVD players than VHS players. The sound quality probably wouldn't be an issue on a DVD and it would make it easier for beginners to skip to the end (where the section on how to perform the basic steps exists) rather than fast forwarding and rewinding all the time.

I would therefore recommend picking up a step workout on DVD along with this product.

The tape also makes reference to a booklet that is presumably included, but mine didn't include a booklet. Not sure if they stopped including a booklet but didn't change their tape or not.

I thought about giving a 4 rating instead of 5 because of the poor quality tape and the apparent lack of a booklet, but the step itself is worth the 5 star rating and I didn't want to detract from that fact.

The Good The Bad and The Questionable4
After researching the best steppers and being a former user of Step Reebok "VIDEO" which I loved I decided on The StepReebok Stepper.
THE BEST PART OF IT IS:
1. It's very durable, I expect to have this forever.
2. It's sturdy and well built. This baby stays exactly where you lay it down.
3. It is wide enough to allow the user to move freely.
THE WORST PART:
1. Putting it together was a B&TCH.
2. It has four (I'll call them tabs) which took two days for me to figure out how to pull them out, if I should pull them out and what would happen when I did pull it out.
3. Well there were no directions on the website or the box or the Video on how to assemble it so I just took a chance and a pair of scissors and screw driver and pulled them out (black tabs) and adjusted the height for the Stepper and put them back in.
5. Now every time I want to change height I will have to do the same thing. Whose bright idea was this?
Over all great equipment, worth the money[...].

It's solid and stable5
I'm not sure what was so challenging for some of the other reviewers here when they were trying to figure out how to adjust the height on this step system. Pops apart and back together in several different configurations for me with little problem - just apply a little upper body strength and presto!

This step system is expensive, but worth the cost. Why? Cheaper products slip and slide and wobble when you get into a vigorous workout. This step system doesn't. If I suddenly flop off the step because it flips while I'm stepping up or down, and I break an ankle or drop a 20 pound dumbbell on my head then a cheaper product has already cost me a lot more in medical bills than I might have saved buying a "wobbly." Sometimes it's better to pay up front. Choosing the right step system is one of those times.

This step system is rock solid on a mat, tile or carpet. It adjusts to all the positions I need, and I'm pleased with my purchase.
