Waste of money1
This gadget is no more than a piece of junk. I'm not sure why there are positive reviews for it, because mine does not work at all. The blades are not sharp enough to chop a clove of garlic, so the wheels do not roll, causing the thing to leave black, rubber skid marks on my counter! The blades face in one direction only, so even if they did chop like they are supposed to, you'd have to roll it in only one direction, which is not clear. I am sorry that I wasted $10 on this sad mechanism. Do not buy this!

You will love this little gadget and you will want more to give to friends who love to cook. This is an ingenious chopper that minces fresh garlic perfectly. I would much rather use fresh garlic in recipes but garlic presses are too hard to squeeze and often leave wasted slivers. This little gizmo is easy to use, easy to clean and small to store. Throw out your garlic press and get a Garlic Zoom. The only slight problem with it is that you have to swipe out all the little pieces that may get down in the crevices. If I am cooking with liquid, I just rinse it into the pot with water or stock or whatever. Otherwise you will have to shake it hard or wipe it out with a small utensil.

Why on earth...!???1
Let me first say that I like gadgets if they do something better than I could do with regular kitchen equipment. If it's gonna take up space in my kitchen, that's the requirement.

So....I received this as a gift, and it lasted one evening in my kitchen. What a complicated little item to do such a simple task! I suppose if you were completely averse to touching raw garlic, then this might have some value, but even supposing that -- you'd still have to take the paper off the garlic! So that requires a knife, smashing it, etc., unless you used store-bought peeled garlic. And if you do that, why not go the extra step and buy chopped garlic and save yourself the trouble?!

The effort involved in taking this thing apart to wash it -- watch out for those pointy little sharp blades, too -- (and the fact that it didn't even chop the garlic that easily) made me chuck it right out. Give me a knife and a cutting board any day!
