Worst DW I've ever owned
GE Quietpower 2 dishwasher:
If I could give this dishwasher zero stars, I would.
1. Thoughtless physical design--When the door closes, the entire area along the bottom of the door traps food & gunk, never getting cleaned during the cycle, so when you open it up, all that food & nastiness that was trapped is sitting there, right NEXT TO your clean dishes...GROSS!!!
2. Terrible electronics design--If you don't want it to run, you have to leave the door open...if someone bumps against the door and closes it, it starts, whether you want it to or not, and there is no way to shut it off except to open the door (which involves its own problems...read on)! Once it has started, if you didn't want it to run at that time, you have to open the door to make it stop, but then it beeps continuously, every minute or so, FOREVER--This is so very annoying I can't even tell you, and there is no way to make it stop, except to let the darn thing run a cycle again!! (And I'm not the first to have this complaint, it is very easily found over and over again in a Google search).
I have begged my husband to haul this Stainless Steel piece-of-you-know-what to the junkyard, or at least switch it out with the Kitchen Aid D/W in our rental house, so at least the renters would be stuck with this one, but I couldn't even do that to my worst enemy...NO ONE deserves to be stuck with this horribly-designed machine!
If you don't like your appliances *beeping* incessantly at you at all hours of the day and night, and don't like opening up the door to find clean dishes but dirty, nasty food stuck between the door and the housing, choose a different dishwasher.
