Kiddopotamus Snuzzler Head and Body Support - ChocolateKiddopotamus Snuzzler Head and Body Support - Chocolate
Buy new: $19.95
I was given the snuzzler as a gift, and it is so great I bought a second one! The first stayed in the car seat, the second I used in the swing, stroller, even on the floor for tummy time. Great for first 3-4 months, for summer baby I would suggest terry over the fleece one for.
Tiny Love Gymini Super Deluxe - Lights&MusicTiny Love Gymini Super Deluxe - Lights&Music
Buy new: $45.49
Lifesaver- my baby started using this at 2 months, and she would be mesmerized for 10 minutes or more, easily. Tiny Love makes great products, period. A baby gym is a must for new moms, worth the money.
Boppy Cradle in Comfort Bouncer - PinkBoppy Cradle in Comfort Bouncer - Pink
Buy new: $54.99
I searched for a smaller, gender neutral infant seat before getting this one (a gift from Mom). Thank goodness I had this, especially the first 2 months. Baby slept in this exclusively for first two months, including at night next to our bed. The bassinet was never used! This one is so much nicer than the others, I would take one for myself!
Boppy Nursing Pillow with Slipcover, Lots of DotsBoppy Nursing Pillow with Slipcover, Lots of Dots
Buy new: $34.99
So many uses, even if you are not nursing. Great for keeping baby elevated after feeding for reflux. Also great for tummy time.
The First Year's Infant To Toddler Tub with Sling BlueThe First Year's Infant To Toddler Tub with Sling Blue
Buy new: $19.96
The best tub, I don't even have a bathtub in my house, so I will count on this for a while! The sling is perfect for little baby, and it will get you through the first year easy. I just so happens it fits perfectly in my sink and the edges rest over the side of the sink on the counter. Perfect!
Fisher-Price Papasan Cradle Swing - Starlight PurpleFisher-Price Papasan Cradle Swing - Starlight Purple
Buy new: $118.98
Great swing, reviews are so accurate on this (I have the Nature's Touch style). Also, in appearance this swing is less obnoxious than others! I didn't have to change batteries for almost three months, and we were guilty of leaving it on when not in use a time or two. The mobile isn't overstimulating but interesting, and baby loves the mirror on the mobile especially.
Dr. Brown's Natural Flow Newborn Feeding SetDr. Brown's Natural Flow Newborn Feeding Set
Buy new: $24.95
I love Doc Brown's. Tried Avent, leaked and too expensive. Initially I didn't want to use Doc Brown's because of extra bottle parts, but not a big deal at all and helps with gas for sure. I did get 4 oz bottles and 8 oz because 8 oz is kind of big, but to save money 8 oz would be fine from the start. Buy 1 of bottle type to try out, but these are my fav.
Skip Hop Splash - WhiteSkip Hop Splash - White
Buy new: $28.00
I love this drying rack, much more stylish than the others and holds just the right amount of bottles at a time. I also have a dishwasher bottle basket (munchkin) but I prefer hand washing, actually more convenient.
Munchkin Formula DispenserMunchkin Formula Dispenser
Buy new: $6.88
A must have if you formula feed. I have one in the diaper bag, and several others in kitchen filled and ready to go. I found it was much easier to use warm water vs. bottle warmer (too slow) so I keep these filled with the right amount and just drop into bottle with warm water.
Gerber Brand 2 Pack Neutral Placket Front GownGerber Brand 2 Pack Neutral Placket Front Gown
Buy new: $9.99
Gowns, gowns, gowns. Don't even think about putting baby to bed in anything with snaps, especially the first few months when you are soooo sleep deprived and don't want to fumble with snaps. These Gerber's ran a little small, but did the trick. They were a little nicer than Carters which is the brand I usually prefer. You decide, but get gowns.
MOBI TykeLight GreenMOBI TykeLight Green
Must have, I have the white one but any one would be great. So nice for middle of night feedings and diaper changes, my baby doesn't love the bright light so I use this. I keep in next to my bed and turn it on before I make the hike down the hall - it keeps me from tripping over the dog, too! Must have...
Tiny Love Sweet Island Dreams MobileTiny Love Sweet Island Dreams Mobile
Buy new: $35.99
Love, love, love this mobile- go to the Tiny Love website and do an interactive demo and you will be sold. The music is beautiful and quality is great, Tiny Love rules! I had hang ups about gimmicks/toys in the crib and about it not matching decor- I got over that real fast. This keeps baby happy for a good 20 minutes, she loves it! I am thinking about attaching it to my bed when she is done...
JJ Cole Diaper and Wipes Pod - Cocoa TreeJJ Cole Diaper and Wipes Pod - Cocoa Tree
Buy new: $16.45
A must have!! Can fit in large purse, but I keep mine attached to the Graco car seat so when I run in and out of places I don't have to drag the diaper bag with me, but I am covered just in case. A must have.
The First Years - Air-Flow Back SleeperThe First Years - Air-Flow Back Sleeper
Buy new: $11.98
Love this- it is not necessary for safety, in my opinion, but it makes a nice, tight nest for baby. And if you swaddle it keeps swaddle tight. Because my baby slept in infant seat for first two months, these helped transition her to the crib easier because it gave her a tight fit. I tried another one first and this one is best.
Kiddopotamus SwaddleMe 100% Cotton Knit Small, Circle BearKiddopotamus SwaddleMe 100% Cotton Knit Small, Circle Bear
Buy new: $14.99
My baby loved swaddling, so these was great, because you don't need a lot of room to spread out to get baby swaddled, you can do it in your lap. Small could probably get most babies through the swaddling months. I also love the 1-2-3 Swaddle blankets if you can find them, they have a lot of room for swaddling.
Halo SleepSack Wearable Blanket - BlueHalo SleepSack Wearable Blanket - Blue
Buy new: $19.38 - $29.99
Halo sleepsack is best- great for baby that doesn't swaddle or the fleece one would be great for winter baby.
Infantino Tag a Long Chimes Elephant and LionInfantino Tag a Long Chimes Elephant and Lion
Love these toys- they attach to almost anything so easily, and the noise was so interesting to baby at two months. I like these better than a lot of toys that have the plastic loop, the velcro is more flexible.
Baby WhoozitBaby Whoozit
Buy new: $10.66
Great toy, goes anywhere.
Lamaze My First MirrorLamaze My First Mirror
Buy new: $19.68
This mirror is a must, it is simple and mine has a black and white back that baby loves as well as mirror. I also attached an Infantino chime toy and that makes it even better. Any Lamaze toys are awesome, I just happened to get a lot as hand me downs and from a resale shop, but they would have been worth the investment new.
Original Maya Wrap Sling (Not Padded)-Medium -BLACKOriginal Maya Wrap Sling (Not Padded)-Medium -BLACK
Buy new: $56.95
This has been a lifesaver. My baby loved this, and I love "wearing" her. I tried a few slings on that didn't adjust, but for me the ring sling was most flexible. Small learning curve but worth it. You will still need a Bjorn or in my case an Ergo carrier after a several months for better comfort but this sling is worth it for first three or so.
Vicks Baby Rectal ThermometerVicks Baby Rectal Thermometer
Buy new: $12.62
Works great, and you have to have it. I didn't know any better and got a regular digital thermometer. Rookie mistake, you will need this one.
Gerber 12-Pack Prefold Birdseye 3-Ply Cloth Diapers with Padding - WhiteGerber 12-Pack Prefold Birdseye 3-Ply Cloth Diapers with Padding - White
Buy new: $16.99
Get several packages of these. I have birdseye and regular. Birdseye is a little thinner and better for burp cloth, thicker ones are great for extra layer on changing table or tucked in diaper caddy. These are so useful- cute burp clothes are great too but before long you will want the bulk of these!
Pottery Barn Kids Sabrina Diaper Caddy & Gingham LinersPottery Barn Kids Sabrina Diaper Caddy & Gingham Liners
Diaper caddy is a must- I live in a small house and thought it may be unnecessary, but I am so glad I have it! Sometimes you are just too tired to get up, and I have what I need in there, including pacifers and a few burp cloths. Get some kind of caddy, I have the PB one but JJ Cole makes a great one, too.
JJ Cole Lite Embroidered Infant Bundle Me - GraphiteJJ Cole Lite Embroidered Infant Bundle Me - Graphite
Another must. I kept in the car seat- saved me from always having to grab an extra blanket. The lite was great for my March baby, that and the snuzzler was warm enough for the South.
Basic Comfort Ultimate Crib SheetBasic Comfort Ultimate Crib Sheet
Buy new: $30.99
Saves a lot of hassle removing the bumper and sheet, these comes off so easy, and is waterproof for spit ups and blow outs. Nice...
Prince Lionheart bebePod Plus, Watermelon with StrapPrince Lionheart bebePod Plus, Watermelon with Strap
Buy new: $48.96
Another must have- most babies can use it after 3-4 months. Splurge and get the plus so you can have the tray and toy. I also looked at the Bumbo but I like this one better, and the tray is easier to attach and remove on Bebe Pod.
Inglesina Zippy Stroller - LavagnaInglesina Zippy Stroller - Lavagna
Buy new: $369.00
Hands down the best stroller, truly closes with one had and so lightweight but still a full size stroller. Works great with Graco Snug Ride car seat. Do yourself a favor and don't buy travel system, get car seat you want and spring for this stroller or maybe a Peg. This will be the only stroller you need so it is worth the extra $$. There is a cool video demo on youtube to see how it works!
Sony 900 MHz BabyCall Nursery MonitorSony 900 MHz BabyCall Nursery Monitor
Buy new: $35.00
This one got great ratings, and it is very good. I like the handle on it. I just don't see the point in having a video monitor, this does the trick and the price is great.

Soft books are great, already reading to baby and she loves it. I really like the Lamaze books.

Buy new: $10.20 / Used from: $4.26
If you read just one book, this may be it. I like it even better than BabyWise, which is also great if you want to the Babywise method, Happiest Baby.. is a great read.
The Girlfriends' Guide to PregnancyThe Girlfriends' Guide to Pregnancy by Vicki Iovine
Buy new: $10.20 / Used from: $0.99
So funny, read it just to get a laugh while you are enduring. Most of what she says is dead on, in my opinion.
