The 1st book. Story of Lessa, a girl who has been in hiding and biding her time until she can claim her birthright. F'lar, a dragonrider finds her and helps her to impress the new queen dragon. She succeeds: but the deadly silver threads that eat all in their path have returned, with not enough dragons to defend the planet. Lessa has a plan that will take her on a dangerous journey to the past.

The third book. One of my favorites! Story of Jaxom, a lordholder who accidentally impressed a dragon, a white dragon named Ruth. Ruth is a runt and the only white dragon in the history of Pern, and no one thinks he will be able to fly or to spew fire to defeat the deadly thread. But together they decide to defy the odds and they may be the only ones to prevent something bigger than Thread itself.

The fifth book, second in Harper Hall. Continuing the story of Menolly. She is now an apprentice Harper but having a hard time due to the fact that she's a woman.

The seventh book. Goes back to an earlier time in Pernese history to tell the story of Moreta, one of the great dragonriders sung about in their ballads. The people and animals of Pern have fallen ill to an unknown ailment which is spreading like the plague. The dragonriders and leaders of Pern must find a solution, but time is of the essence. This is an excellent read!

The ninth book. One of my favorites! This is the story of the colonization of Pern and how the dragons came into being. When the colonists first came to Pern they had no idea that deadly thread could fall from the skies and had no protection against it. They noticed the small fire lizards flaming the thread when it fell, and so they started their mission to create the dragons.

The eleventh book. The dragonriders have been fighting thread for generations, but they want to find a way to eradicate it completely. Previous attempts have failed. But when the leaders of Pern astride the dragons journey to the Southern Continent, they find the colonists voice activated artificial intellience system, which tells them they still have a chance to realize their dream.

The thirteenth book. When the original colonists came to Pern, they brought along intelligent speaking dolphins. But when thread came, the dolphins were forgotten as the dragons became increasingly more important. Now they have become a legend that few believe in. But young Readis and a dragonrider named T'lion have rediscovered the dolphins, and this is their story. Another of my favorites!

The fifteenth book. One of my favorites! Story of Robinton, one of the most famous Harpers on Pern. The story of his childhood and growing into adulthood to become the Masterharper of Pern. It is a time when harpers are being discriminated, and Robinton must overcome the tragedies in his own life the save the lives of others. A must read!

The seventeenth book. Story of Kindan, a miners son. He enjoys his lessons with the harper, but knows he has no future there. He also helps the camps watch-wher, a distant relative of the dragons. When a disaster happens in the mines and he loses his family and the watch-wher, Kindan must form new friendships and follow his dreams to help save the mining camp. First book written with her son Todd.

The ninteenth book. Story of Pellar, a mute taken in by the Masterharper. He works with the Masterharper and dragonriders to discover who is behind the thefts of coal. But when they get greedy and start to steal firestone, the rock the dragons need to produce fire, they threaten the lives of everyone on Pern.

This is a great addition to the dragonriders series if you just can't get enough of it.
