Overpriced and Underpowered.
At only a meagre 150watts this is really only useful for the more subtle things such as soups, custards etc.
It really struggles with anything more challenging such as semi-frozen fruit, vegetables, meat etc.
The product itself seems to be well made and is light and easy to use. The blades themselves can be a little awkard to remove, and as they are so tiny really easy to loose. Another gripe is that at the price you would expect to receive the meat blade and the cookbook at least. However these all have to be purchased separately.
I must also add that I have a Braun MR5550MBC-HC-WH Multiquick professional handblender (the one with the steel shaft) which at 400watts handles everything with aplomb, is way more flexible plus it comes with a whole host of attachments and can be purchased for only $75!!

I heart Bamix
I have the Gastro 200 and am able to crush ice and frozen strawberries with in seconds. From my understanding wattage is of no importance Revulsion Per Minute was the facture into a high-quality immersion blender. The two speeds on the bamix are 17,000 and 10,000 RPM's where as the Braun has a high of 5,000 RPM's.
Best immersion mixer ever
I did a lot or research before I purchased this mixer. I was a little put off by the price since it appeared much more expensive than the competition. However it is in a class by itself, there is no competition. Compared to the others we have owned, this is so much better it makes the others laughable. I took a normally fairly heavy cheese soup and it ended up so creamy and smooth that everyone we had over over-ate the soup. I can't think of enough good thinks to say about this, it even crushes ice.
