The road to Chiang Mai: Hill tribes, poppy culture and ancient Khmers Covers the exotic northern part of Thailand The city of Chiang Mai used to be a capital of a pretty important kingdom Lanna, its temples being very different that in the rest of the country. From there we go to the Golden Triangle, a land where Thailand, Burma and Laos meet, a drug manufacturing area during the Vietnam War that used to be full of poppy cultures. From there we go all the way to the eastern part of the country to visit two of the most beautiful Khmer temples outside Cambodia, Phanom Rung and Phimai and further to one of the beautiful islands of Thailand Koh Sa Met. We ended up in the floating markets of Rachaburi Province and at the largest stupa in the entire country at Nankon Pathom. The Road to Chiang Mai: Hill Tribes, Poppy Culture and Ancient Khmers (Copyright _ 2002 - 47 minutes) covers Chiang Mai, The Golden Triangle, Eastern Thailand. The island of Koh Samet and Rachaburi province with Nankon Pathom and the floating markets.

nostalgia
I purchased this video for the scenery, because I know the area and miss it. The scenery never disappoints, narrative and comment is pedestrian.
