Amazon.com Review
Zephir electric pepper and salt mills from Peugeot are not only fine examples of contemporary design, but work effortlessly thanks to batteries, a boon for those with hand or wrist issues. Each 5-1/2-inch mill blends three types of materials: a soft-touch upper body that feels good in the hand and is available in a choice of color; a clear acrylic viewing window; and an 18/10 stainless steel base that is brushed to a satiny finish. An S or P displayed on the top power button differentiates the salt and pepper. The main difference between the two lies in the grinding mechanism. Peugeot pepper mills use case-hardened-steel grinding heads with two sizes of grooves; the larger grooves crack the peppercorns in half and direct them into the smaller grooves, which grind them much more finely than most mills. The grinding mechanism in Peugeot salt mills is purposefully constructed with 18/10 stainless-steel, which won't corrode from prolonged contact with the salt. The top of each mill unscrews for adding peppercorns and salt, while a wheel on the bottom turns to vary the coarseness of the grind.
The Zephir mill comes in just one size and makes a striking gift, either individually or in a set. Four AAA batteries are required for operation, and are included with each mill. Care for a mill is easy: clean the exterior and inner chamber with a damp cloth; never immerse in water; avoid putting salt in the pepper mill, or grinding green or pink peppercorns by themselves (mixed with black is fine); and avoid damp types of salt (usually pink or gray) in the regular salt mill. Made in France, Peugeot mills are covered by a two-year replacement policy, while the grinding mechanism is covered by a lifetime warranty. Peugeot has been a leading manufacturer of pepper mills since the 1840s, and is a brand preferred by many restaurants and chefs. --Ann Bieri

Peuguet pepper Mill
Excellant product, really runs smooth, only draw back is a small capacity for the pepper. I like mine really course, so I am always refilling the mill. It really runs quiet and is made very well
Decent quality, but slow
This mill is of good quality. It has an adjustable screw under the housing which allows you to determine the size of the grind you prefer. It's extremely convenient when seasoning a bird and you've got one hand soaked in chicken juices.
My main complaint with the item is that it's extremely slow in grinding. Other minor complaints include the noise and the fact that pepper lands on ledges underneath of the grinder, so you have to sort of shake it while grinding to make sure you keep your application well distributed.
I don't regret the purchase, but do imagine there are better products available.
Peugot Pepper Mill
The Peugot Zephir pepper mill is a nice solid mill with variable settings from course to fine grind. A little expensive but if it lasts, it will be worth it.
