Customer Reviews
Worth its weight in $40
We bought this machine for my 6-year old who had requested a cotton candy machine for the past two years. The machine works, but it takes quite a bit of time to get much cotton candy. First you let it warm-up 5 minutes. Then you add the floss. It takes about 5-10 more minutes to get a small cone of candy (maybe as much as they show with the picture, but that's kind of a stretch). Then you can immediately add another scoop of floss for a second cone. Sometimes we're able to make a 3rd cone, but usually it works best if we turn it off, wash it out (the sugar gets melted and stuck inside) and then start over (with another 5 minute reheat). So if you're doing this for one person it works fine, but plan on spending 45 minutes to make cotton candy for 4 kids and don't even think of bringing this to your church party. I think it's the best value out there for $40, though, as anything more powerful starts in the $500 range.
Also, the floss included with the machine didn't work at all (it was very coarse), it just gummed it up. Luckily we had bought some professional floss, but I think regular sugar would have worked fine too. It also came with 2 reusable plastic cones, the paper ones we bought were a lot easier to make a cone on.
Very disappointing
My daughter just loves cotton candy. So, I thought this would be a wonderful Christmas gift for her. After 15 minutes of the machine running and collecting cotton candy on the cone, we had very little to show for all our efforts. It would take forever to spin a cone of cotton candy as they show in the picture. Not to mention that it very messy!
Love it!
This machine was great! We had so much fun using it & it really works!!
