Editorial Reviews

Editorial Review
The Air Flow Sleep Positioner helps keep baby on her back or her side, the positions recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics to reduce the risk of SIDS. Two rounded frames providing support are hollow, allowing for the free flow of air. Adjust the self-fastener strips so that the positioner is just wide enough for baby to lie in. Place it in the crib, and lay baby down on her back or side, with the positioner placed below her arms. The soft fabric cover is comfortable and helps baby feel snug and secure. --Terri Shea

From the Manufacturer
The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that babies sleep on their side or back to reduce the risk of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS). The Air-Flow Back Sleeper helps keep your baby in the proper sleeping position with two rounded frames that adjust with self-fastener strips to accommodate your growing baby. The frames are hollow, with mesh ends that allow for greater air circulation and prevent heat buildup. The open-weave fabric, decorated with stars and moons, is machine washable.

Super Sleep Positioner!5
We purchased this sleep positioner for our newborn son. We used it from the day we brought him home. He seemed to feel very secure in it and slept peacefully. The sleep postioner also washed very well. I took it apart and threw it in the washer & dryer! The adjustable velcro sizing made it nice to use as the baby grew. I would definitely recommend it to anyone. Not only for keeping the baby on his back or side but also for keeping him feeling snug and safe.

Wonderful if your baby can roll over before 6 months!5
I used this product from day one and my infant seemed very comfortable. I recently took the rolls away, because she is able to lift her head. However, at about 4 1/2 months she became a master at rolling over and I found her sleeping on her belly. It scared me half to death. Needless to say, I am back to using this product for my baby. She sleeps very soundly with this product and it really works. Also, it washes very nicely. If you have an active baby that can roll over in their sleep, this is a must!!!! The greatest risk for SIDS is between 1 and 6 months, and babies should NOT be sleeping on their bellies during this time. It does not even matter if your baby can raise his or her head, they need to be on their backs until at least 6 months. This product has given my husband and I piece of mind, which to me is invaluable! I have gone to the local Babies R Us store to try and purchase another one for our day care...no luck. I purchased the "Especially For Baby" Positioner with the built in wedge and it was no good. My daughter slid down and I found her head at the very bottom of the positioner...which if she would have rolled over her head would have been smooshed along side of the side positioner. Having said that, if you are going to purchase a positioner I highly recommend this one over the wedged "Especially for Baby" product.

Toxic Chemicals Found In This Product1
I was just watching a news story on my local news channel here in San Diego regarding findings of baby products that contain harmful chemicals that have been banned by the European Union because of their harmful effects, specifically to the reproductive system, on children. The news story aired a few minutes ago and I logged on to their website for further info, and this specific sleep positioner is listed. I copied and pasted the exact verbage below. I just removed this from our baby registry after reading the story.

excert: "Three of the seven infant sleep accessories tested contained toxic flame retardants in the foam materials. For example, the Leachco Sleep `n Secure 3-in-1 Infant Sleep Positioner, and the First Years' Air Flow Sleep Positioner contained these chemicals."
