Canton Jones has been a big-time force within the Holy Hip Hop movement and yet has seemingly been in the background for far too long. Having written, produced for, and collaborated with artists such as Lil' iROCC and Mr. Del, the head of Cajo Entertainment is now launching his national debut on Arrow Records. The follow-up to the underground classic 20 Yrs. 3 Mths. & 12 Days is The Password, which has has CJ picking up where the initial release left off, and then travel to a totally different musical stratosphere. Jones offers 15 tracks that range from ballads to funky R&P to a virtual crunkfest, and is guaranteed to keep your attention throughout the entire CD. Fantastic as a songwriter and with the ability to fuse slammin' beats with meaningful and prolific lyrics that relate candidly to the heart of the Christian experience, CJ is the real thing. "Stay Saved" is a bonafide smash hit that identifies numerous situations that test a believer's ability to do the right thing. From impatient people to road rage to poor customer service, Jones provides an honest account of very real situations that challenge a believer's love, and then offers encouragement to simply "stay saved". Its a classic that could quickly become the theme song for 2005.

it's time for a revolution...
...and Canton Jones is ushering it in! In a music world of blase lyrics, unoriginal beats, and lack of true MINISTRY, Minister Canton Jones CD "The Password" is like a eating a popsicle on a blistery hot day in the ATL..refreshing! From "On The Floor" to "The Love Song," this CD will have you praising God in a way you didn't know it was cool enough to DO! One of my favorites (though you can play the CD from track one to the end without ANY disappointment) is "Hook You Up," a simple song with a funkkky acoustic guitar in which Canton is telling a female friend, "Let me hook you up with my man, mami!," referring to introducing her to Jesus Christ! He tells her, "You can easily make a change for the Lord and/Turn around like the Bulls when they drafted Jordan" MAN! The harmony and background vocals on all the tracks are witty, crisp, and tight..Just when you think the CD has slowed down, Canton takes you to Krunkville, USA with the title track "The Password" and "Warrior," which will make sure to have you bouncing in your cars with your windows down, "gettin krunk" for Jesus!
Parents, if you are tired of the mess your kids are watching on TV and that their friends keep influencing them with, buy this CD. Brother, Sister, if you are ready for something TIGHT to replace the kind of music you used to listen to, BUY THIS CD..TRUST me. Canton Jones is a true minister of the gospel through song..he has a sound unparalleled in the gospel music industry, and you WILL be pleased.
This album is for anybody and everybody
Im not a kid, I just don't have an account with Amazon. But I thought I would let it be known that this album is tight. Im 16, and went to the youth convention that was in Georgia called IIYC. It was very moving for me, and this is where I found my relationship with God, and decided it was time for me to make a change. I was really inspired by all the speakers, and song artists, such as, Canton Jones, Da Fam, and Chozin. Well, ever since then, I dont really listen to secular music anymore. Because IIYC has given me an alternative for secular music and an opportunity to get crunk, and praise God at the same time. The album that I listen to the most is Canton Jones. His songs help you with whatever you are going through. Like, fighting temtations, or just keeping your mouth closed when you really want to say something. You can just pop this CD right in and play it straight through, because every song will keep you moving, and singing right along. While giving a powerful touch to the soul to stay on track with God. If you dont have the CD yet, you are incomplete without it. You need to get out and cop this CD ASAP! you wont regret it.
A few song are nice other than that...
After growing up listening to hip-hop and r&b, and really being a fan of R&B. If you would have played some of the tracks on a hip hop station, i would not have known they where Christian or not. To me overall the CD is borderline "worldy". I have had the CD for about a 2 years, and "Stay Staved" and there are a few others that are okay, but some of the song make you want to go to the club and that is not a good thing when you profess to be a christian.
